Check for crash sensor on the driver-side fender, is it loose? if so with key off tighten it the crash sensor is made of a metal ring that is magnetized and has a metal ball in it when you hit something on the side the steel ball leaves the unarmed position to the armed position, called an accelerometer this is one of three things that has to be met before arming air bag, so check the connection and tightness, if you can't see a visible problem I can give yo a site to go to that can help you diagnose this for $20.00, but is to dangerous for me to put here in open forum so it is best you talk to air bag experts. If you want it just post it here. Remember it could cause unexpected air bag deployment.

If this vehicle is a 2005 then your fancy snap on machine is a complete and utter waste of time ,The software is encrypted so your snap on thingy could show anything ------ Your snap on reader is about as obsolete as me an old dinasaur or as obsolete as 5inch floopy disk.Dealer only via encrypted internet connection to authorised dealer IP and fingerprint recognition of the operator

My audi a3 2.0 tdi has cut out and wont start seems like it is turning over realy easy it has done 53k there is and was no fumnny noises there is no warning lights or anything

I would suggest that you scan the computer for fault codes. There are different sensors that control ignition and fuel and any one of these sensors can cause the car to stall and refuse to start. The crankshaft positioning sensor could be the cause if it has failed completely. The check engine light may be burned out , therefore no warning lights.
