1999 Ford Ranger 3.o Ltr V-6 Vin code V (FlexFuel) The engine locked up while driving and i pulled it out to install a new one. When i pulled it i left the torque converter bolted to it and pulled it as an assembly now i cannot get the torque converter to seat properly it still needs to go in another half inch. I cannot get the center drive in or out but however it does turn im seeing almost an inch of machined metal before the splines start what am i doing wrong PLEASE HELP IM STUCK

Differential bearing caps 70-85 ft lb
Ring gear bolts 70-85 ft lb
Pinion bearing preload if using original bearings 8-14 lb-in, if installing new bearings 16-28 lb-in

Easy solution. No other bolts, just pried from the bottom to get the timing chain cover off. Sometimes the simplest things are even difficult. thanks.

Chances are the linkage for the transfer case is out of adjustment try loosening the adjuster bolt and put the 4WD shifter into the position 4WD high or low (depending upon which position it's lockup in) then lock down the adjuster bolt, try to shift out of 4wd sometimes you need to go forward and backward with the vehicle to get it out of 4wd, when you get it out of 4wd you may have to fine tune the adjustment to get it to engage and disengage smoothly it's a trial and error thing keep resetting adjuster until you get the desired effect.

Driveshaft axle nut is 177 ft/lbs
Hub and bearing mounting bolts are 133 ft/lbs
