Timing belt replacement is NOT easy and not for the average do it yourselfer. Installing the belt incorrectly can cause severe engine damage by bending the valves, breaking pistons etc. Take this one to a professional.

No that is not an easy thing to replace. If you do not install it correctly you could do permanent damage to your motor like bend the valves. If you have never replaced one before or have very little mechanical experience make sure you have somone help you who knows...or leave it up to a professional.

Not really, if you have the time it takes several hours and is very detailed. A Haynes or Chilton repair manual for the vehicle can help you. Good luck to you

How to change altornator on 2005 kia sportage

Alternator is pretty easy. First disconnect the battery. Then loosen the belt at the idler arm tensioner. Once the belt is loose then you can unbolt the alternator, pull it out, and replace it. You may have to remove a couple of brackets or air filter cover to reach it but not bad at all. First time plan on about 4 hours.

How replace timig chain in accent dohc

should be 1.6L engine. easy to replace but is a belt not chain. unless you know how to line up camshaft / crankshaft, I'd pay for the labor. full kit on RockAuto.com is about $50

remove front right wheel, unbolt engine mount top passenger side, loosen accessory pump at top, remove timing belt covers (upper & lower), replace belt and idlers from kit.
to reassemble....reverse steps.
yes, it is that simple BUT not for a neophyte. inspect original belt before replacement, if no cracks, I'd leave alone. mine had 145,000 at replacement and was still good.

You have to loosen the drive belt & just unbolt it

Easy to say, not so easy to get to

How do I change the timing belt on my 1991 Toyota 4Runner 3.0 liter v-6?

Its pretty easy if you have the time and tools. You have to drain the coolant, remove the fan and radiator and pull the accessory belts off. Remove the crank pulley, timing cover and loosen the timing belt tensioner. Id reccommend changing the water pump/thermostat while you are in there along with all new belts. I would also check out www.yotatech.com for more information as they also have online manuals with more details. Good luck!

What is the book time to replace a half shaft left side. also time for changing the bottom radiator hose, and both alternator belt and ac belt.

With proper maintenance the half shaft should never need replaced. If your mechanic says to then do, otherwise there is no definate way of telling you when it needs it. The radiator hose will need changed when it feels soft. This will be pretty easy to tell as the bottom hose is the 'low' side of the system which means this is where the water pump sucks the coolant from. They make the bottom hose usually a lot stiffer even with a spring in it sometimes to keep it from collapsing. If its soft it needs replaced. If the belts are squealing, it needs replaced. You should have a serpentine belt. So if the inside (ribs) of the belt look cracked or there are missing ribs it needs replaced.

1995 toyota camry leaking oil from behind the timing belt cover. Isn't this a major repair? Is the leak more than likely a camshaft seal?

If you haven't had the timing belt replace (60,000 miles is the suggested service intervale) this is an overlap of having the timing belt replaced.
If the timing belt is not due for replacement and its the cam shaft seal that is leaking. Its a pretty easy fix. Remove the top timing belt cover , and the crankshaft sensor wiring you may have to remove the front engine mount . Set #1 piston at TDC, Loosen tensioner w/ spring slip off belt. **Remove sprocket pull out old seal with a sharp pick. Greese and install new seal make sure its flush with its bore . Reistall sprocket. Slide belt over Cam sprocket tighten tensioner. Install cover and mount (if applicable) Check timing marks by turning crank two revolutions.
** If CamSprocket Bolt is difficult to remove then remove valve cover and use a 21mm wrench to hold the Camshaft while you crack off Cam Sprocket Bolt.
You will see the groves on the Camshaft where you can place a wrench to hold the shaft.
After you replaced the seal replace the valve cover gasket ONLY IF YOU HAD TO REMOVE THE COVER TO HOLD THE CAM WHILE REMOVING ITS BOLT.

This is about as major as it gets.
