Neon burns too much Gas ?

K1500 PICKUP. ? 5.7 TBI. GAS
i will assume eng. compression good and spark good and timed by the book.
it's staving for fuel.!
fuel pressure not at spec,
fuel pressure regulator bad.
injector clogged (injectors screens inside packed)
bad fuel (was bad now bad fuel is in all that path)
MAP sensor bad or clogged up. EGR stuck open
meter mAp pin out,1.5vdc out,keyon to 4.5V WOT (wide open throttle)

we test fuel pressure 3 ways
key pressure
idle
and WOT
the manual covers that, buy the service manual?
so the pressure specs for TBI are at hand./?
there is no fuel rail like MPI so has very odd connections to do pressure tests TBI. (below)
you do know most injectors have 10micron screens inside,and only ultra sonic reverse cleaning cures them right? (or new injectors) I send mine out for pro cleaning, (Usonic)

the hard part of 1995 TBI is getting the TBI specs.
the manuals were 500 pages paper and nobody digitized all page or skipped most the Injection pages.
it is a problem but the used books are sold at EBAY

the TBI if you look close has a FPR, seen here
it must be good.(diaphragm)
some TBI have 2 injectors, start+idle (and fast run)

I think this is a returnless system (early)
so they make up filter tap point. fuel. or TEE fitting.

Try your fuel filter

you may need to adjust the I.A.C. that you installed,a good service manual should show you how.

throttle position sensor

get the throttle position sensor checked out.

might have burnt piston rings. check if u are burning oil, if not then thats ur problem. (piston rings)

ox is same as o2 and is an oxygen sensor which is located on the exhaust manifold lower side. These sensors tell how much gas fumes in exhaust and then tell computer how to adjust air/fuel ratio

The Mass Air Flow sensor is located in the tube running from air filter. It is attached to the throttle plate. It tells the car computer how much air flow is coming into car.

An average car sucks in 9000 gallons of air per every gallon of gas you burn up

vacuum leak at the air duct on throttle body or tps sensor.

sit in car turn key all the way to start position until you see all the lights come on and radio to listen for a a GR""""" sound coming for back seat area that would be a fuel pump grunt!if your not hearing it most likely that's the trouble usually NO engine light will show up either!good luck watch out pouring fuel into throttle body the plastic in takes to the left can explode on misfire can cause serious injury! be careful I would not do that any more!! good luck

Just a thought, have you checked yout TPS(throttle position sensor)? I had similar problems with my 89 GMC Jimmy 4.3l, however a code 44 is strange. Also check to see if your problems go away if you advance the timing a few degree's.
