I have the 1999 Dodge Caravan with the 4 cylinder that just quit running while driving. It got a camshaft position sensor fault code. We replaced the sensor, and the van still would not start. I unplugged the MAP sensor and tried to start, but it still would not start. I checked for spark by removing a spark plug and visually seeing a spark, and it had spark. We poured gas directly into the cylinder, and still could not get it to fire. What other items do you think that I should try?

code p0016refers to the crankshaft /cam shaft position sensor bank 1 sensor A-- correlation===causes---Wiring CKP sensor--CMP sensor--mechanical fault Check timing belt is not broken code po113 refers to intake air temp (IAT) sensor--circuit malfunction===causes ---wiring open circuit/short to positive--wiring short to ground---ground wire defective IAT sensor---ECM code mp0700 refers to transmission control system/MIL-malfunction===causes--wiring ---TCM code po562 refers to system voltage low==causes---wiring poor connections---battery---alternator or it also refers to ECM power relay control--circuit open===causes ---wiring--ECM ---relay. For this one check the battery terminals and posts are shiny clean and tight . Have a load test done on the battery to check for faulty cell. check condition of alternator drive belt and check alternator out put.
P0340 DODGE - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1
Possible causes- Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted - Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor - Faulty starter motor - Starting system circuit - Dead (Weak) battery Tech notes Sometimes and in some models, low battery voltage or a weak starter can can trigger a Camshaft Position Sensor code, also a loose worn cam belt can cause this code. Has the belt ever been replaced?.
That makes the computor think the timing is off. Replace the sensor and see if that does it. You will then have to have the code cleared (erased) or the light will come back on/stay on.
The problem is the MAP sensor, it measures air pressure in the manifold. If it didn't sense pressure, then ECU think the engine not turning, so giving no fuel hence the engine is not fired. Unplug the electric connector from MAP then restart. If it starts then replace the MAP sensor. It looks like this near the right of the upper intake plenum:
p0340 is a camshaft position sensor fault code..more than likely sensor is faulty..located on underside of right(pass) side cylinder head..a bolt holds sensor in place..you can get a sensor at your local dealer
