You may need to top up the coolant,r112,r140or what ever the car is useing. if the car can'nt be topped up then you have a leak that needs to be fixed, usually the drier.

Your A/C temperature sensor switch is bad (Evap Temp Sensor Motorcraft Part #- YH-1662). This sensor sends the signal to turn on cold air. If this part is faulty, your car will sense it is -40 degrees and WILL NOT kick out cold air. To confirm this, bypass the relay with the compressor clutch. Do you get cold air? However, this is ONLY SAFE TO TEST. DO NOT DRIVE WITH THIS JUMPED!! The part is a lousy $25.00 but the dealer will charge upwards of $1200 due to the fact the part is literally in the middle of the dashboard, which means you need to have the dash removed. However, if you have 6+ hours to spare (I assume you want to save the $), then check out this video. Its for a Ford Fusion, but as you know, the Fusion, and Milan are the same car. I changed my 2007 Milan A/C switch based off of this video, and now have ICE COLD AIR! The video gives you all the socket sizes, etc...that you will need in order to perform this task. The vid is only 23 or so minutes long. BUT DON"T BE FOOLED. THIS IS NOT A 23 minute job, but is worth the $ you'll save. Again, the part number is YH-1662 (Evap Temp Sensor Switch by Motorcraft). Here is the link to the video:

1994 chevy k1500 ac compressor not getting power when i turn ac on

In a 1994 Chevy K1500, the compressor should receive power when the AC button is turned on, assuming that the system is adequately pressurized and there are no other issues preventing it from engaging. Here are some steps to diagnose the issue:
  1. Check Refrigerant Levels: Low refrigerant levels can prevent the AC compressor from engaging. If your system is low on refrigerant, it may need to be recharged. This is typically a job for a qualified technician.
  2. Check for Refrigerant Leaks: If your system is low on refrigerant, it's essential to check for leaks. A leak can cause the refrigerant to escape and prevent the compressor from engaging. Look for signs of oil or refrigerant leaks around the AC components.
  3. Fuse and Relay Inspection: Ensure that the AC system's fuse and relay are functioning correctly. You can consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a fuse box diagram to locate the relevant fuses and relays. Replace any blown fuses or faulty relays.
  4. Check the Pressure Switch: Many vehicles have a high-pressure and low-pressure switch in the AC system. These switches monitor the pressure in the system and can prevent the compressor from engaging if the pressure is too high or too low. Check these switches for proper operation and continuity.
  5. Inspect Wiring and Connectors: Examine the wiring and connectors leading to the AC compressor. Look for damaged wires, loose connections, or corrosion. Ensure that there is no damage to the wiring harness.
  6. AC Clutch and Compressor: If all the electrical components are working correctly, you may need to inspect the AC clutch and compressor itself. The AC clutch should engage and disengage when the AC is turned on and off. If the clutch isn't engaging, it may be faulty, or there could be an issue with the compressor itself.
  7. Refrigerant Pressure Sensors: Some vehicles are equipped with refrigerant pressure sensors that can prevent the compressor from engaging if the pressure is out of the specified range. Check if your vehicle has such sensors and test them if necessary.
  8. Professional Diagnosis: If you've checked all of the above and cannot identify the issue, or if you're uncomfortable working on AC systems, it's recommended to consult a qualified automotive technician or AC specialist for a thorough diagnosis and repair.
Remember to prioritize safety when working on your vehicle's AC system, as it involves high-pressure refrigerant and electrical components. If you're not experienced in automotive AC repairs, it's best to seek professional assistance to avoid injury or damage to your vehicle.

Honda crv 2007 compressor clutch does not engaging when temperature is high. It will engage in the morning when temperature is low. Check the relay and works fine.

Most common cause is overcharged system. Refrigerant heats and expands at higher temps and high pressure switch shuts off compressor. See this post on how to diagnose http://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/ac-compressor-clutch-not-engaging/

Ac location relay

If the Freon is low then the a/c clutch will not cut on.There should be a fuse box under the hood and the relay will be in it.

97 chevy suburban AC clutch won't engage pressures

Looks like the low pressure switch gets power from a 10amp ac fuse. Power then goes to the ac relay which is powered on by the ac heat controller on the dash. Power then goes thru the high pressure switch to the compressor. The ac relay is grounded to the body. Do you have power on the lite and dark green wires going into the relay and is it grounded ?

AC compressor won't engage clutch

Lots of things can cause this, I will list them, easiest first.

A blown fuse or relay can prevent the clutch from kicking in. Low refridgerant charge will also do this, the low pressure switch will prevent the clutch from engaging when there is low refrigerant to prevent damage. You may need to put more in, and you also may need to jump the low pressure switch to get the compressor going to add more in. Very rarely the controls could have gone bad, which are the buttons on the dash. Id check out the fuses, relays, and pressure in the system first. A shop may even do a free diagnosis for you.

Compressor will not engage, fuuly charged and relay and fuses ok

YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY CLUTCH CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH. YOU COULD HAVE A LOT OF MOISTURE IN THE AC SYSTEM.CHECK EVAPORATOR LINE GOING IN THE FIREWALL TO EVAPORATOR IF YOU SEE ICE ON EVAPORATOR LINE TO FIREWALL.YOU HAVE A RESTRICTION IN ORIFICE TUBE IN EVAPORATOR OR LOT OF MOISTURE FREEZING UP IN THE SYSTEM.

AC clutch does not engage.

Low freon or none at all will stop the clutch from contacting the compressor plate the turns the compressor.

You need to have it checked for proper amount of Air coolent, and check for leaks.

2007 dodge 5.9 l diesel AC blow hot air we have recharged the system but still no cold air any ideas

does the compressor clutch energize? this can be determined by listening in the engine compartment for the clutch to engage. there will be a clicking sound along with the engine adjusting rpm's for the added load of the compressor. check fuses and relays. if it is not engaging. the low pressure switch also may be faulty. it tells the compressor to turn on when pressure drops. which is normal. you can test it by using a paper clip to jumper the two terminals in the connector. it is located on the same a/c line as the low pressure fill port, between the evaporator, which is in the passenger compartment, and the compressor. if the fuses and relays are good, and the compressor doesn't cycle when the switch is jumped, change the low pressure switch. fuses and relays can be found in the owners manual. if you haven't got one, download one at dodge.com.
