Overheating, replaced thermastat and water pump stilloverheats jag xk8 1997

Could be air lock in system that needs bleeding or water pump not pumping water round!

you need a thermostat or else the antifreeze just gets hotter and hotter and hotter,and blows your headgasket again

Could be a few things. Blockage in the radiator, blown headgasket, bad fan. Need to check for those or get a shop to have a look.

check the hoese what is the difference in the top and bottom hoes temp should be withen 10 degree s of each other when hot

Pull the water pump
The impeller may be gone,eaten away

Is the cam timing correct

Bad head or head gasket.

IS IT ? What is the water temp and do you have good coolant flow. You may have thrown parts at it,when only the temp switch was bad?

Is the radiator clean and flowing coolant? Why was the water pump replaced? What was the condition of the old coolant? If the engine is HOT the air coming through the radiator should also be HOT, if its not, the radiator has blockage and will need to be removed and cleaned.

water pump is the problem,you will find the the water pump impellor has broken or come loose from the shaft,you going to have to replace the water pump

Replace it First as Overheating Can Damage it and cause Fauls reading or NO reading
