The 'Standard' order for bleeding hydraulic brakes on any vehicle, Saab or otherwise, is to begin at the wheel that is farthest away from the brake master cylinder.

typically the master cylinder is on the driver side firewall of the engine compartment. Start bleeding at the passenger side rear wheel. then work your way forward:

passenger side rear
driver side rear
passenger front
driver front

Do yourself a favor and buy a brake bleeder kit so you can do this solo and alspo buy a can of PB Blaster and spray on the bleeder screw fittings a couple days ahead of actually doing the work.

My 1997 saab 900s brakes need to be pumped sometimes in order to get the car to stop any suggestions?

You need to bleed the air out of the 4 brake lines.

Bleed valves are attached to the caliper housings at each wheel - 10mm wrench should do it!

Be sure to attach clear tubing to the bleed valves and put other end into a clear container with some brake fluid already in it. this is so the brake lines don't suck air back before you close off the valves.

Close the valves when no more air bubbles come out.

You will need someone else pumping the brakes for you.

Before you start, open brake master cylinder and have a can of new brake fluid handy to refill reservoir as you go.

Start with wheel farthest from the master cylinder and work forward.

Changed the slave cylinder in my 1993 saab 900. Now have an airlock that I cant bleed out... now what?

I am not sure what all you have tried. I would continue to bleed the brakes starting at the left front and working around the car clockwise. when you change the slave it will take many many many times of doing this to bleed all the air out.

Can't get air out of brake lines in my '04 saab 9-3 turbo after being completely flushed.

should be able to fill the master ,open the bleeders and open the cap on the master.Gravity will eventually take care of the bleed, takes awhile but works. Pumping the pedal makes bubbles ,can make it hard to get all the air out.

Hard to press down on the brake pedal

You need to bleed the brakes, sounds like you have air in the line. Also check the brake fluid. If thats not it then its the master cylinder for your brakes.

Callabers seize up and won't let the car move

Crack the bleed nipple on the caliper. Then with a strong large screw driver wedge it between the disc and the brake pad. This should push back the caliper. Now tighten up the bleed screw Work the caliper free or replace. Have some pressing the brake peddle as you open and close the bleed nipple, this will free up the caliper and tell you if it is working. Do not let the piston come all the way out. Then change the disc and pads.

Rear brakes

You need to unscrew the caliper piston out until you can just get the caliper nto the disk or it will take weeks to self adjust.
hope this helps

1997 Saab 900 Turbo SE Brake Issue

Have you put the correct caliper on each side?
Are bleed screws facing upward?
If so you will probably need to have brakes pressure bled to push through air in ABS system.
