Does my car have rear hand brake shoes

it may.. I have seen these systems and if they looked at these shoes when they had the wheels off they should have changed them then..not charge extra for this..most newer cars have front and rear disc brakes that use pads.. the rear drum is much smaller in size and has seperate shoes in it.. now, there is a cable clamp you can get that will tighten the handbrake cable to take the extra slack out of the ebrake system..unless you really want these ebrake shoes replaced..did you pay for a complete brakejob? ram it down the shops throat and watch them work on it..I hate these half do it shops...

Grinding noise from rear. Brake pads? Bearing maybe? Seems to be coming from the passenger side rear wheel area. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Have the rear brakes inspected. These are real easy to change if they need to be. You need to look under the car just outside the differential. This is an inboard brake system so the wheels don't need to be removed.

Brake pad replacement

Removal & Installation
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Front wheels
  3. Place a C-clamp over the caliper as illustrated, place a screw drive head against the outboard pad and hook against the rear of the caliper. Slowly tighten the screw drive and retract the caliper pistons into their bores and breaking the outboard brake pad from the caliper fingers.
  4. Once the pad is free, slide the caliper in on the guides to provide clearance between the rotor and inboard pad.
  5. Place an appropriate prytool through the center opening in the top of the caliper behind the inboard pad between the pistons using care not to contact the piston boots. Pry the pad to free it from the pistons.
  6. Remove the two caliper guide pin bolts and position the caliper aside. Remove the brake pads.
