Rear-end grinding noise in 1993 GMC Sierra 1500

I replaced the rear-end on my 1993 GMC Sierra 4x4 1500 pickup. When I start driving, it runs fine but after a few seconds, and after I push on the gas pedal it makes a horrible grinding noise. If I tap on the gas pedal again it starts grinding horrible again what could this be?

Your description sounds like the gears inside the the same differential you just replaced.

Do you have to take the rear axle out to change th rear wheel seal on a 2000 two wheel drive GMC pickup?

Yes,the axle has to come out.Which means the rear end cover has to be removed. If your not familiar with this process you should not attempt it on your own or you could end up with bigger head aches.Hope this heaps.Good luck.

There are several things to consider, first I would check the tire balance. Then I would go to the front alignment. If you have trouble on one side or the other you may just have a bad tire.

I have a 2002 gmc sierra 2 wheel drive and when I take off initially and when I turn left I hear a grinding/grumling noise.

Loose or damaged Wheel-Bearing causing other parts to rub together, like the brake components or your wheels are too big or shocks weak, or exhaust hanging and are rubbing against something.
Perhaps oil is leaking from your rear axle housing dut to bad seals (check inner of wheels) and around axle housing - remove plug and check that your finger can reach in and touch it. Could be a sign of rear end failure or simply the backing plates on the brakes behind the rotors and the drums (steel disk) sometimes rust on the drums can grind against the backing plates if they are weak or warped (clean this area).

Need detailed manual or assistance in replacing left rear axle seal and bearing on 2005 GMC Sierra pickup with 5.3L engine and a 324 rear end

You'll need to remove the rear end cover, remove the pin in the center pumpkin, push axle toward the center of vehicle and remove the axle clip, pull out axle. You may need a bearing puller to remove bearing.
