if the security light stays on and is not blinking when the key is turned on , (but do not try to start the car). then you can do a key computor. communication .turn key on and off and[ on ]leave it on for exzactly 10 minutes.the security light will turn off, now take key back to off and now start the car.
You have a failed battery cable, try cleaning it with wire brush and soaking it in baking soda. Also have the battery tested. As far as in the middle of the street push it off
Many possible causes....Too little info to make an intelligent suggestion. Try charging the problem vehicle's battery with jumper cables for 2 minutes with the supply vehicle running at fast idle (or about 1500-2000 RPM, if it is tachometer equipped) before you try to crank the problem vehicle on a cold morning. If it starts right up, you likely have a weak battery that needs replacing.
Unhook one battery cable, positive usually. Now hook a multimeter between the battery post and the cable. With everything off it should read zero volts or close to that. then switch the meter to measure current (amperage) it should read zero again (or very slightly above that as the radio memory draws a small amount.
If it isn't zero or low then you have an item that is staying on and draining your battery overnite. Time to troubleshoot what it may be.
If it tries to start but will not run, make sure it has fuel in the tank, check the fuel pump relay then the fuel pump and fuel filter. If it makes a repeated clicking sound when you try to start it, then the battery may be bad which should be checked along with the alternator. If you turn the car on and the radio works along with all the lights, etc. and it makes no sound when you try to start it, replace the starter.
Turn your key to the on position(do not start), then push the throttle pedal to the floor three times, turn of the ignition, wait a second or twothen start the engine, this should reset it. Works on the 2000 Tahoe LT 4WD
