2004 Mazda 6 suddenly all radio and CD buttons dead

there is a fuse at the back of the radio. lighting can be from your dash lighting on a different circuit to the radio. its a 3amp fuse on the back micro type

Did you find the problem with your radio Terry? I have a 2005 X type and the radio has just suddenly started doing exactly the same thing - cant change radio station or use steering controls, only the volume knob works.

flat battery activates the anti-theft code for the radio
you will need to get it and put it in the radio for it to work

replace head unit in dash

this happened to me after 2 years of having my 2006 Mazda 3, luckily i was still within warranty. the entire LCD had to be replaced in mine

I have a mazda 6 also I dont have a manual for it but I believe it is a safety feature as we get in and turn cd's up loud and I believe it is so that as we sllow down it fades so we can hear sirens etc around us. Mine fades down when I drop below 40km and gets louder agian when I get back up to 60km.

is it a factory unit you have in the vehicle

try pulling all the fuses one at a time and see if any others are blown. if so replace.

Changed the battery yesturday in my Mazda rx-8. Now my radio/CD and my A/C won't work! It's all black! Wot to do???

The radio screws holding the radio are not tight enough. to eliminate this problem remove the radio and adjust the pressure screw in the rear of the radio so it comes out farther>. if the radio is not far enough in the compartment to push in that button the radio controls will not work
