Somebody was fixing my golf gti and he changed the transmision oil and after that when I turn my car on drive it doesn't go more than 20 miles and sounds like the handbrake is up,,,,please help me I just want to know if this person had to do any special stuff to change the transmision oil,,and wat kind of oil goes in it
The problem here is did he put the right transmission fluid in when he changed it? Changing the trans oil is no problem but if he put the wrong oil in you are going to have major problems because you are damaging your transmission everytime you use it. You will need to check the operator handbook in your glove compartment for the correct type of oil or take the vehicle to a transmission shop where they can change the oil and filter.
Testimonial: "Dude thank you very much ur right I just called the guy that changed the oil and he put the wrong one he didn't know that my car needed syntetic oil"
Take it to the Trans service centre and ask them to check you trans oil but tell them nothing else
You could say its got a forward band starting to slip and the oil needs checking out and ask if there is a g/box leak..
They will think you know what your talking about so they wont sting you then..
But the transmittion fluid is (Red auto trans fluid} .
Let me know how you go Ron
