In my 1992 nissan pathfinder, my ac compressor clutch wont engage. But when i jump it with a wire it will cut on. but thats the only way it will cut on. Do i need to recharge it? or what because it has plenty of r12 in it. do you think the r 12 may be bad and i need to put new r12 in? or what? And if so, where could i get r12 because i tried autozone and a couple other places and they only have r13.

Ok . first thing is that you cannot buy r12. you have to be specially licensed to get it. second thing. try to replace the ac relay and see if that solves your problem

My 08 crv ac wont clutch wont engag. is there a recall for this?

Actually it wasn't actually a recall they extended the warranty on the A/C clutch to 7 years or 100,000 miles.

A/c not blowing air

Possibly a leak in the AC system. When refrigerant pressure drops a switch shuts down the AC system completely to prevent damage to the compressor.
Check cold / heat on incoming / outgoing pipe of the compressor. If temperature on both sides is the same the clutch of the compressor isn't activated.

Check with your local repair workshop for leaking AC pipes / coupling

My ac compressor on my dodge 2500 want engauge?

This could be a few things. The freon could be low, one of the switches (high or low pressure) could be bad, or you could have a bad compressor clutch. You can test the clutch by checking for battery voltage and ground at the two pin connector with the A/C on if you have both power and ground, then the clutch is bad. You really should start by hooking up pressure gauges to the A/C ports to check the pressures, and these vary depending on ambient temperature and whether the A/C compressor is engaged or not. I am willing to bet that the freon is low though and may be just as simple as recharging the system.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

A/c has full freon but the compressor clutch wont engage. i have found that the plug going into the compressor is not getting any power. what could be the problem?

On the low pressure line of the ac you have a pressure switch which allows the compressor to come on once a certain pressure is reached, and it will cut the compressor off if the pressure is too high or too low. Look at your ac hose and find the switch *you will see wires connected to it* you may need to replace this switch. You can use a test light to see if you are getting power to the switch. You should check you fuses, and the ac relay witch is usually in a black plastic box under the hood.

Can't get clutch to engage on air contioner.

Best bet is to recharge the system, and check your fuse blocks. You can purchase a recharge kit for approx. $30. Ensure that your fuses are good, and check the wiring for a short.

Ac new and ran for 4 months then stoped.

Try checking the spacing of the clutch of the compressor to your A/C...chances are the gap is too large and will not pull down to engage the compressor. That should eliminate the jump wire and keep your car snowing. No clutch to engage the compressor, no A/C.
