The interior fuse panel can be found below the instrument panel and the exterior fuse panel beneath the hood, near the battery.

  1. Remove the fuse panel cover.
  2. Locate the fuse to be removed.
  3. If equipped with a small fuse removal tool (usually attached to the inside of the fuse panel cover), use the tool to grasp the fuse. Otherwise, you can use your fingers to pull the fuse from the panel. Remove the fuse and inspect it to see if the filament is blown.
  4. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a fuse of the same amperage rating.
  5. Replace the fuse removal tool, if applicable, then install the fuse panel cover.
  6. If the fuse continues to blow, check the circuit or component that the fuse is protecting, and repair it as necessary.

I am also looking for the heater fuse - it is the top one on the right hand side 30 amp but when I remove the cover - I do not see a 30 amp fuse where one is listed on the cover for the heater. I am lost.

The location of the blower fuse on a 1997 Toyota Tacoma. The blower quit working.

Gauge fuse 10A in left kick panel power the control coil of the blower relay
Alt 80A fuse in the underhood fuse box powers the contacts of the "heater" relay
Once the heater relay contacts close, power flows to the "heater fuse" 40A in the underhood fuse box.
From that fuse, power goes directly to the the blower motor.

So check all three fuses AND the relay

Heater blower

There are 2 fuses for the blower. They are in the fuse box on the right side of the dash, bottom row of fuses, second from the left is a 20 amp fuse and that is low blower, the second is also bottom row of fuses, fourth from the right, and it's a 25 amp fuse and that's high blower. Hope that helps.

Heater does not work

Check heater fuse.
If fuse good - could be a failure of the blower fan motor or blower control switch.
If fuse bad - bad blower fan motor could have blown the fuse.
DO: check fuse, then blower motor.
Pricing: new blower motor: Duralast PM270 $43.99
new heater control switch: Duralast SW229 $46.99 (without
A/C).
I'd expect your blower resistor to be good - when they fail, the blower only will work on HIGH setting.
