07 Grand Prix Trans. Fluid Change Schedule

I have a 2007 Grand Prix base (3.8L non-supercharged) with 51k - getting slight slip in the transmission at low speeds. Could this be as simple as changing the tran. fluid filter?

Most of the time it needs to be changed at 50000 miles.

You may change the filter and fluid, but in most cases it will not do any good. Find a good trans shop to check it out.

you could be losing in line pressure or the pressure solenoid could be defective . you can take your vehicle to a transmission shop and with the transmission scan tool they should be able to tell you if your losing pressure or the solenoids has gone bad or something else

What kind of torque converter and transmission on a 2007 grand prix base 3.8l non supercharger

No I think you just have a worn out ****** that need to be rebuilt, just replacing the torque converter is not the fix, since the ****** must come out to replace the torque converter that is when you rebuild it.

My transmission is slipping when accelerating from a stop. 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.1, filter and fluid changed one year ago.

The forward clutches are going bad is the most likely problem. To repair the trans should be rebuilt.

98 grand prix gtp tranny

The tranny is called a 4T65E-HD(heavy duty). The rebuild kits are the same for both supercharged and non-supercharged cars. The occasional harshness is caused by the EPC solenoid hanging up from wear. I recommend installing a Superior Shift Correction kit, 4th clutch hub (the splines strip), EPC, and TCC/PWM solenoid.

This combo works great!

TRANSMISSION slips between gears

slipping or flairing between (during shifts) is usually the result of internal seal failure inside trans. you can check fluid level, and / or change trans fluid... if changing, any excessive metal debris or non metallic flakes in the pan indicate need for rebuild. Shifts are controlled by solenoids not by vacuum.
