Trunk will not pop up when asked to open with remote control. When I hear the click, I must put my fingers on the edge and lift manually. Usually, when the button on the remote control is pressed, the trunk automatically opens to approxmately 1 to 2 inches as if it was spring loaded. I have changed the two pistons and the rubber gasket but the trunk still does not pop up. Thanks for your help. Mike Rooney

1. Look by the press button that you use to open the trunk and there should be a key hole 2. put key and twist and hold it in the twisted position 3. push the key up into the keywell while it is still twisted 4. turn the key back to the normal position while still pushing up 5. now take the key out and use your finger to push the keyhole up into the trunk and you should hear it pop open
If the actuator mechanism is functioning (you hear the click) the next step is to see if the cable is connected to the latch. Open your trunk and press the button - watch what happens. You may have to manually 'lock' the trunk with the trunk lid open to observe the action. You can always unlock this latch with your key if necessary.
there is a little finger in the latch that closes when the trunk is closed chances are that the little finger has closed but the trunk is still open... this can be fixed by looking at the latch on the lid you will see a slot with a metal arm in the middle take a screw driver and place it in the hole in the slot at the top. press the button on the fob to open the trunk while your pulling down on the screw driver the little latch should twist letting the screw driver move through the track and pop out now alowing you to close the trunk and being happy again.
Just beneath the latch ,you can see a clip, turn it up and close the trunk.Try opening it with the button near dash or remote. It should work. They designed it to avoid theft during vallet parking. The main key(steel one) is used only for ignition. There is another key(with a black rubber head) is for ignition and trunk. So if you want to avoid missing any items from trunk using vallet parking, use the main key,put the clip down and hand that to the person who is assisting you during vallet parking.
test the electric pop trunk motor its on the back of the latch. use a test light and see if its getting power when you push the trunk release. also that trunk release is a button inside car not a cable if that correct then there a problem with the remote.
My trunk pops open when I start my car.
