You have to put a wrench on the belt tensioner rotate it all the way back, this allows the room you need to install the belt

Remove motor from trunk and test it using jumper wires from the battery.

Fuel pump is out on 1988 olds regency sprayed brake kleen in intake ran how do you replace pump.

to replace the pump the gas tank must be removed, this is a straight forward job and only requires common hand tools, it is held in place by 2 steel straps and the filler neck assembly, u will need a floor jack to drop it down out of the car, the car will need to be at least 3 feet off the ground to remove the tank.

1988 Oldsmobile Regency 98 will idle but won't quits on the road

Mixture solenoid Quadrajet carburetor? I might start in that neighborhood if it has that carb. Quite cantankerous if not in freshly rebuilt and operating mode. Can cause more than mild symptoms. All your electrical connections and engine/body grounds in good shape? Trying to rule out ignition breakdown so you can focus on fuel delivery, which is my suspicion in this case. Let me know what you find. Thanks, TT
