Po505 idle air control if this is the code all hondas do it eventully, small problem easy fix u have 2 choices either remove the idle air control motor and clean the inside of it u will find it's black and the spring inside is stuck clean it with carb cleaner or gum cutter any parts store will have this it's a dirty job it will work for awhile but to replace it is recommended its not expensive for a new one which u can get at any autoparts store autozone, advanced, napa etc. there is only 2 bolts in most cases maybe 3 i doubt it though if u go online t google and type in th eyear make and model and engine size in ur case it's a 3.0 v6 and look for idle air control locations u'll find it to do this job a shop will charge u anywhere from 100.00 for diag to retrive the code plus the part and the labor so about 250.00-375.00 it will only take u honestly maybe 15 minutes to perform only tools needed are a 10 millimeter wrench there is only 1 connector to disconnect and ur done if u do this u will still have the check engine light because u have not cleared it from the computer to do this just disconnect the negative battery terminal (the black one or has a neg sign - don't disconnect the positive side +)for 5 minutes then reconnect and the computer will have reset no more light. good luck it really is that easy

Check engine light on and was reading a p0505 code drove to the store and engine like started blinking got home hooked the code reader and now have another code of p0309 and p1399

Code 505 is a problem with the idle air control valve.
Code 309 is noting a cylinder 9 missfire on engines with 10 cylinders which would not include yours. That may be a fluke or not the right number.
Code p1399 is brand specific and for Honda it usually means random miss.
The code 505 could be the idle control valve or a vac leak. The computer can not control idle speed by using the valve.
The miss codes mean the cylinders are not producing power when they should be. Which may or may not be ignition. It could also be fuel or mechanical problems.
If you have not replaced the plugs and done the usual maintenance stuff in the past year or two, I would start with the basics.
Be sure and look at the inside of the dist cap and rotor.

Ok I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey and it's was stopping during braking and turning. But I traced it down to the power steering sensor. What else should I check for cause the check engine light came back on...

Not sure I know the main concern here

What was the steering issues your working on?

The PO505 is a Generic Code -for Idle Control
System Malfunction

When engine gets hot, idle is up and down with the engine light on. OBD code gives a P0505 code.

per this address "http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/" p0505 is a "IAC (Idle Air Control) System Malfunction" it gives some good suggestions to look at to find a solution for your problem.

Check engine light is on, on my 2002 honda accord ex v6

Could be as simple as a loose gas cap or cap seal or a bad o2 sensor. A falty cat. converter will also cause the check engine light to come on. Either way, you need to go either to a dealer or some auto parts stores will plug in the dioegnostic sensor and can tell what is wrong. your gas milage will suffer until you get this fixed. Your engine computer uses the inputs from your o2 sensers to adjust the fuel air mixture of the engine for optimum engine performance.

Engine code P0505 for 2002 honda odyssey

p0505 is directly related to the idle air control valve (sometimes called the rotary valve) i cant count how many of these i have replaced on hondas. It is located directly under the throttle body so it can be difficult to replace. I would recommend you having a professional replace this due to the difficulty of the valve removal
