Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat

(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivitysrs light on dash lit up - 2_bing.gif problem.

I DO NOT disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s)

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

It is a known problem and covered under extended warranty through 10 years or 150,000 miles. Take to dealer.

Can I simply unplug my seat belt tensioner from the SRS system in my 2014 Honda Odyssey?

You can unplug it but it will create a warning in the system that may show up on the dash.

Honda odyssey 1999 the srs light comes on anytime while driving lately i just found out that if i hit my hand on top of the dashboard close to the speedo meter it goes off.

get it fixed. Air bags save lives.
get it fixed by any shop , with ASE labels on sleeve is top techs.
the operators guide says to do that. lost it?

and is correct.
if you are big time DIY guy? then buy the fSM and the scan tools
for SRS. and do the tests.
you do or they do , its a simple choice.
for sure it needs repair..
and dont hit the dash, as that might deploy the air bags and cause injury. if you must then do far from dash, with a 2x4 board well beyond arms length.. the can be lethal. air bags.
Google that and read the horrors of DIY mech.

2004 Honda Odyssey won't start or try to turn

You tried it in neutral but did you take it out of park and force it back into park? Just a suggestion since sometimes the switch that tells it that it is in park needs a bit of a nudge sometimes.

What does it mean when an srs light on the dash shows;and how can i fix it; and how much does it cost to fix.

You will have to have diagnostics run to find out if it is the air bag or module, can get pretty costly.

Srs light on in 1996 Honda odyssey. I have read that i can erase codes by using the MES connector and a service tool. I have also read that anytime you work on the airbag system you must disable it first....

If you don't fix the underlying problem, the SRS light will just come back on right away. There is no way to bypass this. Fix it or live with the light. Erasing the code and not fixing won't help at all

SRS dash light has come on and stays on , honda odyssey 2000 model, hope someone can help me !! Cheers Emma

SRS stands for supplemental restraint system (airbags). Have your car hooked up to a diagnostic computer at a dealer or good repair shop. They will tell you if your problem is with the warning system or the restraint system itself. Do not ignore this warning. And good luck with it.

SRS light on my dash board of 94 honda civic ??

Try his from someone that had the same problem...
"I have the same SRS light problem. Comes on when I start the car and stays on the whole time. I called American Honda (1-800-999-1009) and gave them my VIN number. Apparently there is a warranty extension: 10 yrs or 157,500 miles, whichever comes first on the OPDS (occupant position detector sensor) unit or OPDS sensor which can cause the SRS light to come on. Going to take it to a Honda dealer next week. If that is the problem then it will be fixed for free. If not I have to pay for the diagnosis fee which is about $100 and then however much it cost to fix the problem."
