When i try to shift from park to reverse the car jumps into gear very hard when it is shifed from reverse to drive same problem exept the car seems to be in a high gear very slow to get moving like i have no 1st gear check engine light comes on and there is an X over the D for drive any hep would be nice thanks

When you "muscled it into neural" you broke the shifter. Most likely it will take a replacement shifter to repair.

Yes when you park on an incline you should always put your emergency brake on before shifting to park. Then whenyou are ready to move again put you car in gear before disengaging the emergency brake. this will remove the stress from the transmission.

It can be issue with gears or problem with transmission and needs to be rebuilt. Also get the ****** fluid checked. If it's low, then such problems occurs.

The shifter needs to be inspected. If The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities.

car wont move

you have to take your car to workshop and check transmission with computer, that is ONLY way to know problem of your transmission.

There is a pin in the transmission that has sheared off or a band has come loose. Bottom line you need to have the transmission serviced and repaired.
