1994/1996 taurus not sure which, but the dome lights

can you give more details pls. does it urns off even with the door shut?if not the switch itself on the dome is stuck to on position try removing it and clean it

You may want to look at your nightlight adjustment(peedometer lights, nightime lights)...if too far forward, when you shut off engine light remains on(drove me crazy trying to figure that one out).

Check all of the door jam switch either one of them is stuck or one of them is faulty.

I would unscrew or remove each switch from door jam and disconnect wires till light went out and replace that switch

The door switch is bad, have it replaced and everything will start working properly again

Check fuse 23, 27 and 33 inside the vehicle. Chances are you blew a fuse when the dome lamp shorted. The modules should be okay.

One of the door switches is bad. Try spraying wd4o into all the latches, sometimes this will free up the switches. It might take a couple of days. If it doesn't work you'll have to unhook one at a time to find out which one is bad.
