2000 buick regal lse 3.8 wont start or turn over

Ok, first off do you have a chiped key? look on the side for a resistor symbl if yes try a spare key if you have one. secondly is the theft light flashing? third option turn the key to the on position wait 15 and try to start the car, if it is your security system this will sometimes deactivate it

check all your fuses and your coil/coils, could be your alternator. check your distributor cap also, points, tightness, etc.

turn the key on and wait till the security light stops flashing ( this could take as long as 30 minuets ) then turn the key off then back on but do not try to start the engine and wait till the security light stops flashing ( again this could take as long as 30 minuets ) then turn key off then turn key on and start engine.

Could be a ground problem , do you know about automotive electrical circuit's ? Has a B+ voltage side an a ground side to compleat the circuit back to the negative side of the Battery ? Looking at wiring diagrams for the affected system's i see they share a common ground point . G 201 ,do you know about body grounds ? I would look for a loose connection . G201

I had the same problem with my Odometer in my 01' Regal. The dealer will quote you some outrageous price for a new instrument cluster. There are a bunch of people on Ebay that you can pay around $100 and they will repair it for you. Or, if your husband is pretty handy you can fix it yourself for about $2.00. All you need is a pack of resistors from RadioShack and soldering gun. I did it myself and with this videos instruction it only took me a little under an hour and $12.00.

As for the service light, I don't know what you had repaired, but to get mine off I had to get a dealer to reset the computer (about $100 or so).

Im assuming you're saying it will NOT start. If thats the case but the engine turns over then there could be three possible problems. Number one is no fuel or fuel pressure, number two, no spark from your spark plugs or number 3- bad ignition module. if these are good, then it could be more severe such as bad computer, bad crank shaft sensor....etc....in any case, checking for fuel problems or ignition problems is the first thing you should do.....most likely, it's one of those 2 faults.......good luck

A coworker of mine said he had the same problem with a GM product the same year. I tried it and it worked, so simple. All you have to do is pull the headlight switch on and then start the car, let it run for a few minutes and now it works normal.

there is a reset button in the fuse box located on the passenger side of the dash. press and hold it for a few seconds and it will reset your tire pressure light. if it doesnt work, have the sensor checked.
