My car dies when i put it in gear or when i come to a stop and a rough idle i changed the tps

Have scanned for codes could be the tps throttle position sensor. If you have a rough idling could be IAC idle air control valve.

Check the fuel filter. It might not be a bad idea to do a tune up.

Cpould be IAC sensor maybe TPS sensor[RPM].

Try cleaning the throttle valve and idle speed control motor with throttle valve cleaner and then diconnect the battery for 5 minutes and drive it for a few days.

You do not mention any testing, the transmission and engine are fully electronically controlled, have the system scanned for fault codes as a first step in repair.

See if the idle control is working. I have a protegee that does the same thing, although the cause of mine is diffrent, it is the torque converter clutch not disengaging when stopped. Read the code, and see if there are any. Auto Zone will read it for free and give you a print out.

Was the TPS adjusted to 1.5 volts or checked for that voltage reading beforehand?

I have experienced this problem on similar vehicles. You should try and replace the coolant temp sensor. If it is not reading the correct temp to the ecm, it will not get the right fuel map. Also, the cts will not always throw a code.
