Testimonial: "VERY COOL and VERY HELPFUL"

is it a serpintine belt drive or individual belts? if individual, then remove the belt that drives the a/c until you can get it fixed if the later then take it to a service centre as soon as posible you don't want to course any more problems

What would cause the engine fan to pop off on my 2002 kia sportage

Hey Ursula,
This is a serious situation.. The fan is usually held on by bolts, that are screwed into a hub that is pressed on a shaft with a pulley that is turned by a belt. Most engines have the fan on the shaft that is turned by the belt (pulley) and that turns the water pump.. if the water pump shaft broke, this would have caused ALL the symptoms that you have described. This is not a hard or difficult repair job - IF you have the tools and some experience doing this sort of thing.. If not, ask some of the people that work at O'Reillys, Auto Zone or Advance Auto for their recommendations of a good mechanic (one that GUARANTEES their work!!) Good luck!

2005 ford focus zx4 ac compresser making noise when ac is turned on

Yes, it could be the ac clutch or the compressor itself.

Have a 1995 ford heavy 250, 7.3 diesel, recently had fan belt replaced and now getting a loud high pitched vibration noise when accelerating it occurs between 1000 and 1500 Rpm and goes away at higher...

sounds like your fan clutch may be failing, remove the drive belt and manually spin all the pulleys by have listen for noise and feel for looseness in the bearings

I just installed a clutch fan into my 2004 dodge durango and now the suv runs so heavy. I mean the suv runs loud. Is this normal?

Not sure what you mean by "heavy" and "loud"..

The fan might be "louder" because it may have been allot more quiet with the old failing fan clutch and not spinning fast enough.. Thus the new one working correctly making the fan spin much faster and being "louder"..
If that makes sense - to you question..

The fan clutch was replaced but the same noise which sounds like an airplane taking off is still present when accelerating at any speed. Does the fan motor need to be replaced also?

Could be your belt tensioner is worn out and needs replacing, common for a 10 year old vehicle. Is it a loud squeeling noise? if so then it's the belt slipping and rubber on metal pullys is a loud screeching noise

Loud high pitched noise from belt

When you have the belt off, spin that idler pulley and see if it turns easily or makes noise. Check if the bearing feels good and smooth or if it wobbles any. While you are at it, check the fan and fan clutch to see if they turn smoothly also. There should be some resistance to the fan clutch, and make sure the fan isn't rubbing on anything.

Replacing the idler pulley is usually done as a unit since the bearing is part of the pulley.

Loud grinding noise

The best way to check this is to remove the serpintine belt from the engine (be sure to make note of how it is routed around the pulleys.......most cars have a diagrahm siticker to show the routing under the hood some where).then give each of the pulleys a spin by hand, the only pulley you shouldnt be able to turn by hand is the one on the very bottom of the engine(Crank Pulley).all of the others should spin freely...if any of them feel tight or have a funny feel to them that is likely your problem.....keep in mind if you continue to drive it the way it is the bad acessory will make itself known, melt the belt off of the car and leave you stranded....as i type im also thinking you could be low on power steering fluid does the cars noise change if you turn the wheels while sitting idling? if so check the power steering fluid.......If neither of these things seem to be the problem. It could be the a\c clutch making some noise.....if a\c is unused for a while rust can build up between the pulley and the a\c clutch. If so simply turn on the a\c for a while and the friction should remove the rust and remedy the problem providing the a\c is charged and functioning properly........
hope this helps...Good Luck!

Squealing NOISE possibly from fan belt

If the noise going away every time u turning off the ac it's probably your ac compressor belt.however i will suggest to take some vaseline and rub it all over the exposed parts of your drive belt.
