My son left the dome light on all night. Replaced the battery. The truck starts but will not stay running. Ran perfect when I parked it.

The computer has lost its memory for idle control possibly.Try this, crank the truck and shut is off.Do this as many as 20 times , each time try to leave it running for 2 or 3 seconds so you can see if it will idle on its own.Do this till it relearns base idle.

Check engine coolant sensor. If it has a problem, it sends a message to the computer that your engine is actually cold and sends more fuel to the engine causing it to run rough or die. After cooling down it will start and run until it warms up then does the same thing again. Just a thought but could be the problem. You have changed your fuel filter correct? And have you checked your fuel pressure?

2003 suburban Losing power.....

Do a back pressure check on the cat converter if gas powered. Diesel doesn't have one. If you get 1lb or more psi of back pressure the cat is bad. Also check the fuel pressure with a gauge when this happens.

Idles fine cold/ when it wamrs up it dies 1986 4x4 gmc suburban

This is only a suggestion because it worked for me. With a cool engine, use a can of store brand carb cleaner and spray the heck out of it. Get it into the linkage well and let it sit for up to and hour or so....stuff some rags on the intake manifold to soak up the excess. Then, after letting it sit, get your 'Burb up to operating temp. Should be the ticket for you....and no, your engine won't catch fire.

I have a 91 suburban and it wont hold idle. I am waiting for and egr valve. if that fixes it i will let you know. I was told that they can have an internal vacuum leak therefore being difficult to detect.
