Problem with wiring, switches or relay on my 1986 audi 80 cc

I think i have a problem with either the wiring, switches or relays for my 1986 audi 80 cc. My longlighs wont stay toggled and my driving lights wont work when the instrument lights and cd-player are on... what could be wrong? all functions (longlights, drivinglights, backlights on instruments, 1000m lights and cd player) are working by themselves but not at the same time.. i checked all the fuses but none are broken so im guessing a problem in the wiring, relays or that maybe a switch has broke...

Either its a bad switch or you have a pretty significant short somewhere inside the dash....

1986 ford f150 tested fuel pump with cables, pump runs no power when hooked to wires going to tank, is it relay

THIS IS ALL ON MEMORY SO GET YOURSELF A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THAT TRUCK!!!
If you have one you should install an inline fuel pressure gauge to verify that you are indeed not getting fuel pressure first. Assuming you have no fuel pressure, it could be one of a few things.
check all of you fuses
if ok, check fuel pump relay for activation during engine cranking. I believe in that vintage Ford, the oil pressure switch is responsible for activating the relay. So with a test light backprobe the activation wire at the relay. if you get activation power at the relay, and no relay activation, then yes it is the relay, but if you get nothing, then it will be the oil pressure switch. If you get activation to relay and still no pump activation then you might have a break in the wiring OR the fuel pump has short brushes.

I know thats alot to take in but hey thats what a diy forum is for right? Good luck!!!

Problem: A co-worker has a 1999 Audi A6 Quattro. Her directionals stopped working and she's had to resort to manually moving the switch arm (the hazards work fine, though). Someone on the internet...

i think her problem is the hazard light switch this is how they go when they go wrong the indicators stop working ,their is no magic relay or seting dash lights --- not on such an old car ,the hazards work but no indicators ,they all use the same flasher unit but its all wired through teh hazard light switch ,anyway shes a female and they never use indicators anyway ,only hazards for triple parking outside the hairdresser

Manual for a 1993 ford mustang relay switch for cooling fan

I'm not sure but I think it is in the engine compartment. Follow the wires coming from the fan going to the relay switch. One wire is a ground and the other is power. If you have air conditioning there could be three wires for a two speed fan. Good luck.

Audi 80, 1992, fan not coming on.

Have you tried a fan relay?
I'm thinking there is a coolant sensor AND a fan sensor on that model.

The wipers work intermittently and I've been told I need a new wiper relay switch, but having problems locating one. 1998 Audi A4 1.9TDI. Have removed existing relay switch and it's 12V and 70A

The only place to get a wiper relay is from an Audi dealer. However, I have that same problem and the relay didn't fix it, I'm still trying to figure it out. I would try the relay first though, it's about $60 I think.

Where is fuel pump relay in audi 80 ?

Hi there...if your audi is a B4 same as mine....fuse and relay box is located under the engine hood, driver side ....if you are italian....or passenger side side ..if you from Uk....just lift the hood, and check below the windshield in the gutter ...you'll see a black plastic box...here you go!
lift the lid...look for a grey box with the # 209 (if I recall correct..) ...that is your fuel pump relay...easy to replace.

hope this can help and regards
