I have a 1001 KIA Spectra GS everything checks out fine Bat.,fuses,connections and wiring, howevre when Itry to start it nothing happens, if I leave the key on and jump the starter it starts right up whats wrong with this vehicle

    yes the selnoid is of the built in type,however I removed the starter and had it placed on a test mechine where it checked out fine could it be the netural safety switch?

    yes I have power to the starter form the key and all fuses are good what am I missing?

Probably your starter solonoid.some starters have them built in on them and some are mounted on the fender wall ,witch would have apower cable running from pos.+ batt. terminal to it then to starter if pos+ batt. cable goes directly to starter it's built in. Or it could be your ignition switch that the key goes into.

The starter relay or solenoid is either not getting the crank circuitcurrent from the key switch.

    yes, it could be the neutral safety swirch.. very mich so.

Where is the alternator relay on 2004 Kia Spectra

According to my database, no generator relay, there are a couple of fuses for gen and fusible link for generator bat terminal. You could check battery amp draw with everything off. You may have to wait several minutes before testing.

How to check if your multi function switch works in my 2002 kia spectra

I would look at the wires and sockets next. Then test the connections for power and ground, narrow it down that way.

CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE AND FUSE LINK ALTERNATOR NOT GETTING NO POWER FROM BATTERY.ALSO CHECK ALTERNATOR WIRES CONNECTORS FOR DAMAGE OR BROKE WIRES IN THE ALTERNATOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. I HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH CHEVROLET THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES CAME OUT THE CONNECTOR I HAD TO BUY NEW CONNECTOR CRIMP IT SOLDER THEN SEAL IT WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE IF FUSE AND FUSE LINK OKAY MORE LIKELY YOU HAVE DAMAGED WIRES AT CONNECTOR MAKE SURE DRIVE BELT TIGHT AND NOT SLIPPING.

check to see if your brake lights are working .if not look for blown fuse or brake light switch or bulbs their should be a override slot or procedure to release from park.release solenoid is not working.

i think he is wrong ....check plugs wires and for vacuum leaks common for intake gaskets i have changed 3 this year and all had cyl misfire related codes

Check all wires from battery to starter are connected and clean and tight.If they are then your solinoid is your problem.

Kia spectra wont start

it is probably the starter assuming the engine isnt locked up. I would check to see if you have battery voltage at the starters solenoid wire with the key in the start position if you do i would check the fuses and starter relay
