My Speedometer and temp gauge are failing. They get stuck. Can you tell me how to fix it? Some people are saying that you have to remove the entire dashboard to get to it. I was also told that this is an all in one unit. It takes care of the speedometer, gas gauge and temp gauge, is this correct?

Maybe I can help a little they are right it is one unit. How ever each one has a sendding unit and are fused. Your temp gauge has a sendding unit your speedodomder works off a cable. I'm resorring my first car 87' camaro none of the gauge work ex. the speed. No gas, no temp or oil replaced sending units they work now but they not cheap. I got tried of running uot of gas I'm a bad guesser.

Hope I answered your proplem.

2002 Chrysler 300M 3.5 liter, 4-door sedan. How to fix my speedometer problem?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

You connect a code scan tool and it tells you the issue. It will likely say a P0*** code that is 'VSS Failed no signal'. VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor.

How do I fix my gauges? (Ie, gas gauge, temp gauge, speedometer, odometer)

Fuses? Blown fusible link? Most gauges work by getting 12 volts from the ignition switch when on, and getting a ground from the sender. Often the 12 volt supply wire goes to more than one so if dead, both will fail. If you have a wiring diagram, you might find which wire to cluster should be hot, and trace it backward to find the issue. Easier to check for ignition switch feed first.

The gauges all come as one unit. And yes you have to remove a rather large part of the dash trim to get at the cluster(gauges). It can be tricky to remove the trim without breaking it. The trim that has to be removed is one piece from one side of the car to the other. there are a few bolts in each end the two above the cluster. The rest is held in with tension retainers.

Temp gauge off charts

Are you mistaking the engine temp sensor for the engine temp sending unit? The temp sensor is for the fuel injection system and the temp sending unit is for the gauge. If you asked for a sensor thats what they sold you. You need to ask for a sending unit.
