I have a 95 mitsubishi eclipse rs and the alternator was out when i got it and it didnt have the wire on the alternator to make it hot so can i run a wire to the new one from the battery or will that mess it up?

The alternator wire should run to the fuse box under the hood, going to the fuse labeled Alternator. Follow this wire to the end, and bolt it to the alternator.

Thats where the wire originally comes from, but where is it? it needs to be a pretty big wire, at least 10 gauge.

According to the owners manual, the #13 fuse is for the alternator. There is a problem in the charging circuit. You should check all of the wiring to the alternator/battery. Maybe even remove the alternator and have it checked at an auto parts store.

no back-firing or anything like that. Double check firing order and how about your plugs/in good shape? How old is the plug wiring? Does the Eclipse have cam senors? If so, I would check them.

Transmission rebuilt 5 years ago on a 1997 Eclipse RS. Now, the RPM levels are extremely high even without full acceleration.
The likely cause for your high RPM may be caused by a vacuum leak in the engine. You can open the hood and check your hoses for cracks and leaks. This is a good place to start, but may no be a full solution.
