I have 1992 Honda Accord LX that has intermittant problems shifting correctly. The main relay and TCM have been replaced, the fluids are good, but recently some strange things I have noticed when it does not shift correctly are that (sometimes) the brake sensor light is on, but not always, The "D4" light is always on when does not shift correctly, also when it is in this state I do not have to press the brake to take it out of Park, and when I do press the brake I do not hear the Neutral safety switch click.
Any suggestion?
-very important check for brake light when pressed (outside rear)
-did u recently change any bulb at the rear if yes recheck if it the right brake light bulb 1157
u need to do a dignostic for the d4 light and it will lead u to the problem
Testimonial: "Thanks for the help, but it turn out to be a failed (rebuilt) TCM. After replacing it a second time the transmission has been shifting correctly."
