On top of the starter unplug the solenoid wire. Then make a jumper wire with a spade connector on one end about four feet. plug this into the solenoid and use the other end of the wire to tap the positive side of the batt. this should engage the starter if all is well. if it dosen't, then the problen is the starter.

Ford F150 year 1999 difficult to start, first try acts like batteries problem, second time engeen turning for a while finaly will start, when turn off and start again no problem,

Sounds like a week battery. But I would check that All of the connectios between the battery, starter relay, starter and the alternater are clean and tight. Then check the voltage of the battery with engine off should be 12.7. Then check with engine running should be around 13.8.

We have a 2002 Grand Cherokee that we have just bought. Dealer installed a brand new battery because of sluggish starts. In a week the battery is acting weak again, sometimes it starts fine, other times...

I was having the same issue with my 95 GMC. I replaced the battery and alternator. It would start fine at times, at other times it would be sluggish. I finally took the starter off and had it checked. Turns out the starter was bad. When it would get hot, it would act as though the battery was dead. Replaced the starter and it has not acted up again. Have the starter checked. Replace if bad.

My 1995 Nissan Altima's starter will not start the car unless boosted with 250 amp battery charger boost, sometimes, and sometimes not. Swapped battery.... same thing. Cleaned and tightened all connections...

Sounds like the starter is going bad. The internals of the solinoid may be breaking down. By adding the extra amperage to the system your basically forcing it to work. You may want to check the posts on the starter. If they are coming lose they can give you the same tell tales of a bad starter.

95 nissan pathfinder starter went out replaced starter and starter relay it will start run good for a day or two then it will click before it will start this is the third starter and also changed cable...

It is a signature of a dead or dieing battery. get the battery checked out at walmart or buy a few goodies and check it your self, first the water, make sure it is full, to the fill mark, with distilled water, no minerals, then check the voltage, 13 V Minimum at all times. Then get one of those floaty ball battery testers, one dead cell or even one week cell, battery is shot. Then check the terminals, gotta be squeaky clean. inside, won't start without it. I am not saying you didn't get a bad starter, I got 3 once too for one of my rodeos, they tried to blame the car, I said get up the starter, the 3rd one finally worked. Hope this helps.

2006 Nissan Frontier Starter wont engage

Your starter solenoid is probably bad if the battery is good. Not sure if you can get just the solenoid or you have to buy the whole starte. Also check to make sure the cables are tight not only on the battery but the starter as well

95 Pathfinder would not crank, jump no help, then started fine?!?

If the key is in the ignition and the door is open or ajar, the chime alert will sound, although the lights might be off. Ensure door jam switch is working properly. Also have your ignition switch check out.

Check your positive wire from battery to starter? and Check Ground wire also.

If you have an alarm that cuts off the starter, it might be acting up by failing to reset, so that you can start the truck.

95 pathfinder wont stay running and doesnt charge

Check all grounds running from all electrical, If there is not a good contact this problem will occur, when you locate the ground surface take sandpaper or even a knife and scrape or sand the connector and the ground surface then reconnect it, It should return to normal if not then it could be a solenoid possibly but not sure
