1994 s-10 blazer starting problems fuel issue

I have a 1994 chevy s-10 blazer with the 4.3 vortec vin W it has a problem starting more when it is cold in the morning. i have figured it out to be a fuel issue that is between the tank and the pressure test valve at the back of the intake. the fuel pressure is about 58 psi while the pump is running but when it shuts off the pressure drops and settles at about 15-20 psi. it will start with some starting fluid . in reading my manual i have figured it down to a faulty fuel pump or a faulty fuel pulse dampener. not sure exactly where the dampener is located. had a new gm fuel pump installed about 6 months ago. any help is appreciated.

probably not fuel filter . probably going to have to remove the upper intake and replace the fuel injector spider(fuel inj assebly) if it is droping fuel pressure it is leaking into the upper manifold

it is the flexible line between the fuel pump and the metal line.It is all locaed in the fuel tank.

your statement is fuel pump work ok, have you tested for proper fuel pressure. just because the fuel pump works it could have less pressure needed to start the engine. maybe the fuel filter is plugged. start out by replacing the fuel filter, if this doesn't fix it, you need to pressure test the pump. even 10 psi reduction in pressure will allow the engine not to start.

Try replacing the fuel filter, but it sounds like you have a weak fuel pump. Your cold start pressure should be 62-65 psi and drop about 5 psi when the engine is running. Anything less then 62 psi is going to cause you to have starting issues, you can also test your fuel pump by blocking off the return line to see if you get 75-78 PSI. this is just a test to see if your fuel pump is still good. If you have less then that with the return line blocked off, replace your fuel pump but check your ground wire first. The ground wire is separate from the wire harness and grounded to the frame and a bad ground will give you a weak pump.

Our fuel pump stopped working on our 98 Chevy Blazer V6 4.3L Vortec Engine, so we bought a new one. A couple days later (before replacing the fuel pump) it started up and ran but ran crappy. So we did

what did you do (replace it) if you still have a miss you may need to tune it up / make sure the fuel pump you bought is for the right psi for your blazer

I have a 1993 chevy blazer with the 4.3 vortec and when I start driving it looses power when I hit second gear starts jumping and acting like its gonna stall how do I fix this

if mtr is missfiring u may need 2 go through the ingnition system ie spark plugs leads/dizzy cap/rotorarm its also a good idear 2 replace the fuel & air filters or get it 2 a mechanic & have it run up on a tune scope.

when ordering fuel pump, need to know the vin letter w or z. one is for a carb and the other is for a injection or vortec engine. one puts out 11psi and the other puts out 60psi. is this an in tank fuel pump?

93 S-10 blazer, vortec v 6 cpi, when cold it is very hard to start, you have to shoot ether and it will start right up, new fuel pump and filter and fuel pump relay, once it starts it will start right back...

Issue with PCs Valve Check for vacum lost cracking rubber connection Pre-Heater and Primer System Mal-Functional Check also for Idle sensor Relay for bad connection....good luck

I have a 96 chevy blazer with a 4.3 vortec rough

Do a compression test on all of your cylinders when it is cold. Backfiring is a sign of a worn valve seat allowing mixed fuel and air (lit by spark) to be forced back into the intake. You will probably see compression loss on one or more cylinders.

Also... there is a chance that the EGR valve is not totally seated when the engine is cold with just a small blow by. The EGR valve seats coke up over time with black gunk.

Know if my 95 chevy blazer has a spider CPI?

A spider injector is located underneath the intake plenum and this is multi-port. Otherwise you have a throttle body injector system. Vortec engines have spider injectors and they are super expensive to replace ($400.00- 850.00) each ! There is only one spider injector for each engine it has 6 legs/fuel tubes that go to each cylinder.

1999 chevy blazer wont start

THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

if your losing fuel pressure after the pump runs the drain back valve in the pump has failed.

and i doubt that you are seeing enough fuel pressure to run a vortec engine.

low fuel pressure equals a non running vortec

2000 chevy blazer starting issues

swng,
1) Is the service engine soon light ever on when engine is running?
2) Per your description I would look at the ECT sending unit. It sends coolant temperature information the the Engine Control Module for proper fuel delivery for cold engine start. It may have lost its calibration.
