Sounds like your battery is dead. Most batteries last about two to three years. I suspect maybe yours has a couple of dead cells. You will need a hydrometer a device we use to test each cell. When you pick one up at the parts store pry open the caps off of the top of the battery. Next squeeze and hold the bulb on the hydrometer and stick the meter into each opening in the battery and release and make a notation of where the little ball in the meter is located. This will tell you that you have one or more cells dead and the battery will need replacing. Good Luck.
I have a 2005 chevy colbalt, bought a new batteir for it a month ago. Tonight i started my car to warm it up a little since it is cold outside, everything was fine at first. Than i go to leave for work, my lights are dim, theres this batteir saver light flashing on my dash, than something about my system. I turned it off, waited a few minutes and tried to start it. First I got clicking noise and than nowthing. It can't be the battier again can it?
Batt is dead starter has to have 12.6 volts to start engine radio will run for long time jump batterie and have the alternater tested
A three year old battery should not go bad yet but some do. Have the battery charged, then load tested. (with a charger, not another car) and have your charging system checked. Make sure that all connections are clean and secure and that your drivebelt is in good condition and not slipping. At this point it sounds like a bad battery but also could be a charging problem.
