Alfa 156 2.0 TS Clutch pedal has no resistance, and can not select gears with engine running

I suspect that the clutch master cylinder is faulty - its made of plastic and not very durable
There is no clutch adjustment on that vehicle

Return spring is likely missing

I own a alfa 156 jts, and have the same problem, first I cleaned the maf sensor, then I changed the pedal assy. It came back. Now I have changed the Throttle body Ass\'y ( TPS) and it has fixed the problem. Also a new set of plugs will fix the lumpy problem?

an air leak would weaken the mix of fuel to air so giving you better fuel efficiency but a poor power output.
was my last answer not to your liking, re **** fuel consumption on all fiat/alpha cars.but it is true, ask any owner........14.7 average mpg.......£205 road tax.....(tax it for a year and quadruple its value...)

syncronizer for 4 gear total damaged it happens you need to open gearbox and change the syncro bearing for 4 th not very expensive dont change the gearbox

maybe need to refill or change the gear box oil

It sounds to me like the clutch is not working properly.
This may be an adjustment problem or signs of a worn clutch.
Try selecting 5th gear and with the handbrake on let out the clutch, if the engine stalls then the clutch is probably ok and may just need adjusted. If the engine doesn't stall then your clutch is shot and unfortunately its gearbox back out to fit a new clutch.
