Rasping noise from engine/transmission on accelerating. Stops on lifting off gas or cruising on level ground.

The tensioner is NOT spring loaded - it's adjusted by the technician who installed it. Take it back and tell them to FIX IT!

How to align the timming marks of the cam-belt on my 1,4 Getz ?

Sorry but you have internal problems, when your belt broke it caused contact between the valves and pistons. The cylinder head will need to be removed and inspected what damage has been done.

Replacing a daihatsu terios timing belt

the procedure of aligning all the timing marks before removing the belt will be the same . The necessity of not moving crank and cams without the belt being connected is still relevant. How ever there are some differences as to tensioning the belt and timing balance shafts . The biggest killer of rubber belts is oil so the oil seals (Cams shaft/ crank shaft should be also replaced and hydraulic tensioner if you have one). Idler pulleys do as much work as the belt so replacing them to replace the bearings is also a good move. . To come up to speed as to the differences a workshop manual for your vehicle is strongly recommended.

Noise after fitting cam belt

When you refitted the belt, was there a spacer ring refitted correctly?
Also, check for any sprocket key was fitted correctly and that the crankshaft pulley bolt was refitted correctly and was tightened properly.
There's also the slight possibility that the plastic casings weren't fitted flush and are being scraped by the pulleys or belt.

Is the A/C belt seperate from the alternator

Yes the Air Con pump is driven from a seperate belt which is linked to the belt system for the rest of the engine.

To change it may be a workshop job unless you are skilled and have the manual for any settings you may disturb while fitting the new belt

A workshop should not charge a great deal as it will take a motor mechanic 45 minutes to change it
