The simptoms you are describing sound like the catalitic converter, that will choke the car and potentally get better as the car heats up. advance auto will scan the car codes for free. a quick check is to start the car and check the exhaust flow out the tail pipe there should be a fair volume of exhaust gasses at high idle when you first start the car at cold.

The car runs fine when cold but after driving 10 or 15 miles it acts like its hot even though gauge says normal--hesitation on acceleration and rough idling we've also been having trouble with the radiator...

Sounds like air in the cooling system. What year camaro? What engine size?Have vehicle running at operating temp and slightly open cooling system bleeder (if equiped) leave open until you get coolant only and no more air.If this doesnt work have cooling system pressure tested.Could be a blown gasket somewhere.Good Luck!!!!!

Acts like it isn't getting fuel, chokes out

Hello,

Do you have an engine light? Throwing a code?
Just does this at idle or when driving/acceleration?
Acting strange changing symptoms (E.G.--idle to acceleration to black smoke out exhaust, etc.)? Plenty of Gas in tank?

I am thinking: No engine light
Clog in fuel filter
intermittent fuel pump problem
A vehicle starting sensor (E.G.--Throttle Position Sensor (TPS))
Main computer
Engine Light: Pull Code
Sensor

I hope this helps.

96 Camry LE V6 that hesitates the first thing in the morning,

It sounds like a dead spot in the TPS (throttle position sensor) it is the only sensor that is subject to physical wear (1996 its old replace it) also the 02 sensor is old too.

05 TrailBlazer 57,000 miles 4.2 6 cyl, bad vibration at cold startup, in idle and in drive, in reverse, smooth. Summer mornings just very slight. I live in central GA. My brother also has a TrailBlazer ...

WHEN YOU SAY THAT IT GOES AWAY IF YOU PUT IT IN REVERSE THE THERE HAS TO BE A MOUNT OR SOMETHING HITTING ON THE LEFT SIDE PUT IT ON A LIFT AND TAKE A BIG BAR AND MOVE THE MOTOR UP ON THE LEFT SIDE AND SEE IF THAT CHANGES THE FEEL CLEAN OUT THE THROTTLE PLATES AND SEE IF THAT TAKES CARE OF THE HESITATION

Major hesitation at cold idle, car accelerates at a slow pace, hesitation also appears when in passing gear. replaced fuel filter 2 months ago

symtoms of a bad coolant sensor: poor car idle, rich mixture, retarded timing, slow idle speed, cold hesitation or stumble, poor fuel milage, check and make sure air filter is clean. and check plugs and wires if need be,

'03 Jeep Liberty starts weakly and needs gas pedal to idle

Turning over is what the starter does to the engine ...you can turn an engine over with no spark plugs in it...but you can't start it. Turning over is cranking .....the starter turns (cranks) the engine over (comes from when you had to put a crank in the front of the engine and crank it.)
Does it crank normally but has trouble starting???????

Hesitation when cold or after hard acceleration

one of 3 things spark plugs need to be change or wires check for these also you have to check for fuel pump it cause this type of things check the pressure hope it's solved

Frequently will crank but not start

the problem must be with the batteries. check the voltage levels of the battery using a voltmeter. if it goes lower that 10v and fast dying, then replace them. and also check the alternator charging the battery for any charging problem.

Hesitation or stumble during acceleration

take your car for a tune up
if they are carburetor type motors you may need your carbie cleaned and a tune up
if you clean it your self with carbie cleaner it may increase in idle speed this is nothing to worries about it is a simple adjustment
with a carburetor type motor they tend to idle higher when their cold this is the automatic choke kicking in and normally it should happen till the car is a bit warmer and the accelerator has been depresses
although a car should idle at 800 rpm my paddok car dose when it is cold it idles at 1200rpm i like it this way as the car warms up quicker as i will not drive a car while it is cold
hope this helps
