either the battery is u/s..or it needs reprogramming, i would do both anyway, just change battery in the key, then ( if you google how to re-program a 325i key) there is a sequence you do to program it to your car and it is relativley easy as i have done it to my 325i

Go to BMW dealer and ask for code and they make new key.

look at the valve cover or by it follow the vac line

REMOVE FAN AND SHROWD. REMOVE BOTH RAD. HOSES. REMOVE THE 3 10MM BOLTS AND THE 11MM AND 13MM. START WITH THAT. DONT FORGET TO BLEED THE COOLING SYSTEM (USE THE BLEED SCREW ON THE UPPER RAD HOSE). MIGHT BE OVER YOUR HEAD.

ok sensor I is located at the right of the top side oil filter, and sensor II is located to the very front right corner of the engine, they should just turn out like a bolt, diconnect the wires first of course and then tunr them out and replace then, make sure to put anti seize on the threads when installing new ones, reconnect wires and test again.

Which lights, do you know what they are or can you describe them?

The early 3 series have been known to have a noisy fuel pump. As long as the car is operating fine it should not fail you. The pumps available today at the dealer have an updated design. Make sure you are using a reputable gas station. Gas with greater that 10% alcohol can make these pumps seize up.

I had the same problem for four years until I purchased a CD from Ebay titled "BMW E30 Convertible". I discovered, that I was opening the top up incorrectly. The top works fine. Unlatch the top from the windshield frame, then lift up the back half of the top, unlatch the top lid, rise it up and lower the top into the compartment, close and latch the soft top lid. Hopes this helps.

remove steering wheel (17mm hex nut)
remove screws from dash cluster(3 on bottom. 2 on top)
Unplug connections to cluster
Tilt towards you and pull up, and that it!
Trust me , you want to take the steering wheel off , makes the job much easier!
