PCV bad. (or its hose pinched, clogged or even backward)

1. PCV is failing fix this first for $5 or remove it and see how bad blow by is. visually. (remove only valve covers side to test )
2. or cracked or collapsed piston.
3. or cracked head gasket, compression tests pass?

blow by is most mostly past bad piston rings, even warped cylinder from past overheated engine,

The YJ used a 2.5 L AMC 150 I4 or optional 4.2 L AMC 258 I6 until 1990

there is a short in the wire going from the gauge to the tank. ck the wiring under the truck from the tank going forward, and ck if anything looks like its rubbing on the wiring harness.

A few ways 1. unhook battery for a bit then reconnect. 2. turn key on and off three times, on third time leave on and wait for codes to finish flashing on dash 3. last but not least, and probably most effective, go down to local parts store and borrow code reader that you will also be able to clear codes with. And as always, if they come back on , it aint' fixed yet.

sounds like you have a possiable alternator issue or a loose or corroded battery cable, have that checked.

i have a 1988 jeep wrangler 6cyl with 5 speed transmission. I was shifting the jeep and it got stuck in third gear. We opened it up and saw that the linkage is aligned and everything is in place. I dont know what is wrong and what to do next. please help ....

have you checked the fuel pump ? the fuel pump is in the fuel tank and it may be that the fuel guage inside the tank is broken and or not attached to the pump. This is a big job but with a little help from buddys and a bit patients it can be repaired.
