Air suspension compressor sounds bad and wont pump up the rear on a 2003 mercury grand marquis

What is odd is the compressor stopping after so short a time. It may be your only problem.

When you have a leak in the system, the compressor keeps running because the sensors do not signal for it to shut off. On your vehicle it is either being told to shut off prematurely or the compressor is triggering a circuit breaker.

There are ride height sensors on the rear. If the vehicle was lifted without turning off the Air ride, the sensors may have been stretched.

You can check for air leaks in the suspension bags, and air lines using a spray bottle of soapy water. There is also a Master dump valve that should be ahead of the Drivers front tire/radiator well area. It is not a concern unless there is no pressure in the system.

Finally, just as the engine can express diagnostic Codes, so can the suspension. You need a better scanner to do this function. It is the quickest way to find the problem.

I have 94'crown vic with rear air ride suspension problems. The back end won't rise. Any help is appreciated.

Start by checking the fuses for the air compressor for the rear suspension. these will be listed in your owners manual. Failing this it could be the compressor motor or wiring to the motor, unless you can hear the compressor working. If the compressor is running but not adjusting the back of the car then you have an air leak in one of the shocks or air lines.
if you find it is a fuse, also listen for the compressor motor running and an air leak, if the system is running constantly to make up for a leak , that may be what blew the fuse.

Hope this helps

The rear shocks bleed down overnight. This has happened only a few times and when the car is started the rear end rises. The last time the vechile had to be moved an inch or two backwards then forward then...

There is a built in valve for this function in the suspension compressor. If and when this sticks open it will cause the rear end to sag. Its not replaced except with the compressor.
The bags in back can still be leaking under where the the bag rolls up, the car would need to be in the air to see that area.

The rear suspension is down on my 1999 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer. The cause: while out in the woods I came across a small dip which cause my back left wheel to lift off the ground. The suspension...

I had a 1999 Expedition. When you put the 4x4 on it raises the vehicle an extra inch or 2.
It may help to turn the 4x4 off. Two wheel drive is a lower air setting.
Your original pump may still be good. The problem can be in the front. The compressor is not filling the front suspension to the cutoff point. It will lift the rear after the front end is at running height. Since you lost the front end first, the remaining air bled out there and then the rear came down. Once you shut down the car the suspension was done, all the air was let go.
There are adjustment solenoids on the body but you need someone qualified to repair this.

Air Suspension system Problem 1990 Lincoln Towncar

Unplugging the Connector will cause the Check Suspension light to come on as its listed as a fault as it cant run.

But with it unplugged the compressor shouldnt been able to start. If you want to kill the compressor pull its relay from the engine bay. located above the battery.

But i'd suggest correcting the fault as if those bags do pop your going to end up being grounded. as the rear will drop a fair bit!

Ac repair

Your Trail Blazer does not have a rear compressor. It will have a rear expansion valve and a rear evaporator core. Changing the line will depend on exactly where it is leaking. The lines run all the way from the front to the rear so it can be a chore. Do you know which line it is and about where it is leaking? There are a high and low side line, and they will have connections in places. With more info on the location I can look it up on the GM service site and give you more info. Good Luck

Suspension air compressor

If your compressor is running all the time, it is almost certain that you have a leak. It could be either in the lines going to the rear air bags, or the air bags themselves. Simplest way to find a leak, is to get a spray bottle with soapy water, make sure the suspension is aired up, and spray the lines starting from the compressor. Work all the way back to the bags, now when you get the bags nice and soapy then bounce the rear of the truck up and down. If their are any leaks the soapy water will bubble up showing you wear the leak it.
That is how i would start.

If its a bigger leak the rear air bags wont stay aired up, if its a small leak, then the air compressor will be running all the time to keep the truck aired up.

Remember, when you are driving, the compressor is constantly working to keep the rear bags at the proper height, even more so on rough roads.

Air ride compresser not running

There are 3 fuses.
No. 6(5amp) in interior fuse panel is the ignition feed to module
no. 4 (15amp) in the underhood fuse panel feeds the coil side of the compressor/vent solenoid in the compressor.
no. 15(50amp) in the underhood fuse panel feeds the switch side of the compressor relay.
