I have a 2000 Audi A4. Full service was done last month by an Audi main dealer. I noted when I picked up the car that 'SERVICE!' still displayed when the car was started and quickly called their attention but was told it will reset automtically after 300-400 mile.
I have now done around 800 miles yet it still displays 'SERVICE!' when I start the car. Can anybody help please?

"Retriger airbag control unit"??? NOT! If the airbags are deployed in a 2000 Audi A4, the airbag control unit MUST be replaced. Pleases refer to 2000 Audi A4 service information for more details.
Press and hold BOTH right and left panel knobs while turning the ignition key to the ON position, the regular ligts come up and cycle. The message 10000 miles till next service should come up meanng the service is reset till next service cycle.
Turn off the ignition press and hold the button on the leftside of the display while turning the ignition on it should say service oil on the display pull out the button on the rightside of the display until the service oil clears
Did you buy the car 2nd hand? If you have an Audi service history, call the main dealer who used to service it and they will hopefully have the code still. I had exactly the same and Leicester Audi were very helpfull for me.
