You need to know how much fuel is actually getting to the injectors. if it's throttle-body injected you should be able to observe a basically uniform conical fuel spray from below the injectors in the throttle body. if multiport injected, you can't see injector spray, but you can attach a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve in the fuel rail to see if the fuel pump is putting out adequately. if you don't have a gauge, my favorite redneck method (this is technically a bad idea, so please use all common sense if you do this...no smoking, no open flames, keep all spark plug wires attached, etc.) is to depress the plunger on that schrader valve w/ a small screwdriver for about half a second; if you get pretty wet w/ gas then your pump's probably ok, but you might have a problem where the injectors aren't getting the proper signal from the computer

Will not stay cranked, acts as if its running out of gas

Change fuel filter and have fuel pressure checked. If it's low your fuel pump is probably going bad.

I have a 1995 Geo Prizm. Has been giving me problems since February. It didn't want to crank one morning. My dad replaced fuel pump and fuel filter. Then it would crank but still take about 10 minutes...

Did it jump time. Have u checked fuel pressure with a gage, With a fuel pressure tester u can see if the pressure bleeds off right away. Should have fuel pressure around 45 to 50 psi. Also a bad fuel pressure regulator can cause that also, What about the mass air flow sensor.

Not getting fuel into carb. have fuel at pressure test port put fuel into carb and engine starts.

Hi, that's not a carb, but OK. You have injectors at each cylinder port, right? Are they clicking when you crank the engine? If you can't tell, hold a long screwdriver to an injector and hold the other end to your ear while someone cranks the engine. Possible reasons for the injectors not clicking are the security system acting up, or maybe the crankshaft position sensor acting up.
Is the security light on the dash cluster lit up? Is the "check engine" light staying on after the bulb check?

2000 1500 Sierra will not stay running step on gas act like its running out of gas. Popped top fuel line gas came poured outbut didn't pump out when i rolled the engine over. Got underneath the fuel cell...

Replace the fuel pump and fuel filter to correct the problem you are having. Without the proper fuel pressure the engine will not run at all. Hope this will help you. You might check the fuse/relay panel for a blown fuse or relay in it to make sure you are getting power to fuel pump before you go to the trouble of removing the pump and fuel filter. Hope this will help you.

Diesel ford will crank but wont start acts like

If you have the 6.0 ltr diesel, then check the bowl where the 2nd fuel filter is, see if there is fuel in the bowl, if not then either your fuel pump which is on the frame under the driver's side in the water seperator/ heater has gone bad, or your filters could be bad, or the fuse to the fuel pump or the pump shut off switch which is located on the side panel at your feet on the passengers side, there is a reset button, make sure it has not popped and press it down, hopefully this helps, I had the same prob.

Fuel pump want engage

Check the fuel pump. Disconnect the discharge line after the pump. Let somebody start crank the engine, and see if there's gas going out of it. If there's none, check the fuel filter. Blow air into the gas tank side of it with your mouth (or use air from the compressor), and find out if the air goes out at the other side. If it does, it's ok. Otherwise, you need to replace it. Also
check the fuel line if the fuel flow free. After everything
has been checked and defective parts replaced, Put the fuel filter in place, as well as the disconnected
discharge line of the fuel pump. Start your engine and go.
