Is it leaking between wear the head and intake mate together? If so you can try retorqing the bolts and see if it stops other wise you will have to replace the intake gasgets.

I am assuming that you have an external leak at the manifold area, though it could also be internal. This was an issue and in 2004 GM redesigned the intake gaskets to address this issue. I have also seen manifolds warped and or rusted, but that is rare. Ask for the updated gaskets at your local parts store.

Intake antfreeze.leak

I hate when that happens ! if you can visually see the coolant leaking out from intake manifold @ gasket, yes it needs replaced. the gaskets. just did it to my winter car that sat outside, a lot of work , just to replace the gaskets. don't think agasket sealer would work here, intake manifold needs to come off along with alot of other things, PATIENCE is a virtue, good luck

My car isn't heating up. the temp thing is at 1/4 or less. It was out of coolant, filled that, still not heating up.

if the tempo gauge never gets above 1/4 you probably have a thermostat stuck open. The thermostat is under the housing bolted to the top of the engine that the upper hose runs to.

I smell antfreeze when turning a corner in my 1996 Chev s-10 w/ 4.3. No visible leaks and no over heating. Help?

I would first check in the cab on the floor just under the heater to make sure there isn't any antifreeze leaking there. Check the resovour and make sure is isn't over full. If leaking in the cab the heater core is bad. You may have to drop the heater core housing which is not very easy. Check around the heater hoses very carefully for any slight leaks. Good luck.

Leeking antfreez by intake gasget

Check that the antifreeze is coming from either a freeze plug which is round and about 1-3/4" in diameter, or the head gasket.

If it's a head gasket, it will have to be replaced.

If it's a hose leading to the intake gasket area, replace that part.

If it's a freeze plug, then a rubber expanding one (with a screw in adjuster) may substitute for the original metal one.

Good luck on this repair.

Antfreeze leak not allowing belt to get traction where might the antifreeze be coming from and how can fix it

check all the hoses. next, check the water pump, should be behind the fan. If the bearings have gone bad in the water pump, it can sometimes leak coolant everywhere.

There is a water leek some ware in the back of the engine and runs down by the starter, and can not find the leak 1997 Jimmy

Could be the intake manfold, the big block that the carborator sets on. It is common for these to start leaking on this engine. Hopefully it is just a heater hose leeaking. Changing the intake could be expensive. If it is the intake, it will cause the jimmy to overheat eventually. look between the intake and were it bolts down to the engine aroung the area you see the water coming from.
