That wire would be called a primary wire. You are probably correct about the door locks.
First, go to a Autozone or Oreillys and ask for a free scan for your system. Tell them about your battery concerns and the primary wire. Their gauges will show if the charging system is okay.
Next, try to look in a owners manual for the fuse diagram. Autozone may assist in giving you the info. You want to know what is on the door lock circuit. The idea is, if the fuse to the door lock was removed, what other things stop working? If you can operate the car without those things then pull the fuse and see if the battery goes down. If you can not operate the car with the missing items, pull the fuse overnight and replace it before you drive. Again if the battery is okay you have isolated your problem to the things the fuse controls.
Then you can start looking for the one source of the problem without needlessly tearing up your car. This may be a wire in the door or door lock button.
SOURCE: HOW DO YOU DISABLE THE SEAT BELT CHIME ON A 1997 MERCUTY SABLE WA
Q: Are you wearing your seat belt? Yes? No?
A: No.
Solution: Put on your seat belt!!!!!! Save a life!!!
A: Yes.
Soultion: There has to be a fuse either under the dash or under the hood that controlls the chime.
There is a switch in the seatbelt connecter that controlls the chime. It has either failed or the wireing that carried the signal to shut the chime off has been damaged.

have alternator tested - sounds like a bad voltage regulator which should be inside the alternator. (parts store can confirm location of regulator)
SOURCE: Where is the drain plug on the radiator?
as i recall, it is on the back of the radiator on the engine side at the bottom, probably under the lower radiator hose. it is a t fitting, probalby really tight, dont break it off. and be sure and have something to hold the coolant and not let it run in the gutter. critters drinking it, especially birds, die from it, and your neighbors get upset when you pollute
