I had the same thing happen after the power steering belt broke. Replaced it and everything was fine after. I'd check the belts to make sure they are all tight and in good condition. Hope this helps!

I would suspect the crank sensor, but it needs to be verified when it wont start.

Yesterday I replaced the carb on my 89 jeep wrangler. Twice. Both times when I turn the ignition over it doesn't start but instantly floods the carb with gas. Why and how do I fix this?

Sounds like a stuck or defective float.(perhaps a hole in it). Also check the needle valve for operation and if its installed correctly. That is connected to the float

My 89 Jeep YJ manual will not go in to reverse while running

Problem is likely either a worn shift fork or bad synchro (both inside the transmission) It's unlikely that you have a clutch problem otherwise the problem would be with first and reverse and shifting other gears would also be difficult.

89 jeep wrangler wont start

Sounds like the drainback valve inside the pump is shot...try just turning the key on and waiting a minute and see if it starts that way.

2002 Jeep Wrangler intermittent total electrical system failure

sounds like a battery or ground connection problem , disconnect and clean the inside of the battery cables and the posts, tighter securely . If that doesn't do it remove the other end of the negative cable and clean the cable end and the metal that it bolts to.

89 jeep wrangler

Hello, We used to have this very same problem with our Mini! what you have here or havn't as the case may be is a good Earth to the Engine Starter and Battery so your cables are doing an overload job. Take an extra earth strap from engine/starter direct to battery!
Good Luck!
