Have a 1996 Vento (Jetta) that seems to have a flood on the passenger side. Mould and all. I am guessing it could be an air conditioner leak... 1. Where would be the best place to start to find the leak? 2. How hard is it to remove all the carpet? Thanks!

The carpet is easy to remove, but you have to be sure is a/c leak and not antifreeze leak because if is,you need to replace the heater core

VY commodore smelly air conditioner

Probably a build up of grime, mould, cigarette smoke(if you smoke in the car)_ etc etc. The air intake is under the passenger side. On some models , there is a filter that can be removed and cleaned, you would have to check with your Owners manual or a Dealer. There are cans of air con deodorisers available from Air conditioner parts stores (Actrol, Heatcraft , Airfridge etc) Spray the can into the air inlet of the air con whilst running. It kills anything bad and cleans and sterilises the air con. These cans are about $45 to $50 each, but they work better than unloading a can of Glen 20.

1995 vw jetta gl air conditioner fuse 2.0 l

You may not be full of refrigerant... There is a low pressure switch that prevents the AC from actuating the clutch, and the reason is: IF there is not enough refrigerant, you will not be able to move oil through the system and you will have major damage...so no engauge...

Get the system checked, most likely there is a leak somewhere..

2001 Pontiac Sunfire passenger floor is soaking wet after rain.

This is either two things. 1: The air conditioner condenser is leaking and will have to be siliconed, or you have a bead door or other weather stip that is allowing water in.

Air conditioner leaks (drains)into the front passenger seat floor mat

The a/c drain tube will be located on the firewall. It will be on the passenger side twards the bottom of the firewall. It will be about 3/8 inch in diameter, and about 1-2 inches long sticking out of the firewall. You will probably need to get under the vehicle to gain acess.
