I have a 95 eclipse n/a that wont start. it was running perfect, amazing actually, and then all the sudden wouldnt start. all lights and radio come on in the car(battery is fine, tried jumping it just in case.) the car doesnt crank(the starter isnt turning). i reset the computer, filled the slave cylinder(it was very low but i have a stage 2 clutchmaster), oil is full, fuses are fine, alternator is fine. battery has a good ground the only thing i can think it is is maybe a sensor(o2 sensor maybe...?) but id like to find out before i push start it and take it to a mechanic.

Check the main fuse in the fuse box under the hood. If the starter is getting power, replace the starter. If the starter isn't getting power, replace the ignition control module.

If the starter isn't turning it is not an o2 sensor. You need to make sure you are getting power to the starter, use a test light and a voltmeter check and make sure you are getting 12 volts to the starter if you are getting 12 volts from the battery to the starter check and make sure you are getting 12 volts from the ignition switch which will be the smaller wire. If you are getting 12 volts through that wire then the starter is bad. If you are not getting 12 volts or any volts you need to make sure the fuse and relay for the starter are good then check and make sure you have power coming out of the ignition switch going to the starter you will need an electrical schematic for the car to trace the wires to find the correct one.

Car working fine, suddenly wont start

Be sure it is in fact the right gas cap. Often when you purchase from someone like bumper to bumper etc the parts people get the wrong info. I suggest you go direct to the dealership pickup a cap and see if that solves the problem.

Check guages light comes on after short drive while engine is running, and the car died while driving on I-95 the lights started flickering getting dimmer. the radio would turn off when anything else...

It sounds like the Alternator is actually bad.
One great way to determine this:
Recharge the new battery with a trickle charge overnight. Make sure use remove the wires going to the Battery before recharging.
Replace the Battery Wires.
Get the Vehicle Started.
When it has Started: Leave it Running and Disconnect and Remove the Negative side of the Battery. If the Vehicle dies, it is the Alternator that is bad, and needs to be replaced..
The Battery starts that vehicle, and provides nominal power to certain accessories. The Alternator actual Runs the Engine and Recharges the Battery with a low trickled charge.

Car suddenly wont start radio, wipers, gauges wont work

Very possible you may have a faulty voltage regulator. I would have it tested which many places do for free.

My gsx won't start

Check the fuel system2_bing.gif to make sure it's getting gas. Take the back seat out and turn the ignition on without cranking the car. You should hear the fuel pump make noise for a few seconds as it pressurizes the system and then turns off. If you don't hear anything, it would probably be the pump or one of the two relays on the firewall2_bing.gif next to the master cylinder. I replace the cheaper of the two relays and that fixed my problem.

Check engine light- 95 mitsubishi eclipse

OK, the correct interval for the replacement of the timing belt for this model is every 60,000 miles. if the belt hasn't been changed, i would do so asap. it may be to late considering that it has started to rattle.

The timing belt can become damaged before it actually breaks, in return, causing valve timing to shift. this will cause the valves to tap the pistons during the idle.

This will run you about 1100 dollars at the dealership plus, they will also replace any push rods if need.

2001 Mitsubishi eclipse wont start

you don't hit the alternator, you hit the starter to help is shake free because it is already going bad. take battery and alternator to parts store and have both tested. check the wires at the starter and make sure they are on SECURELY. very important SOLID CONTACT is occurring. do your lights turn on? check starter relay if the eclipse is equipped with one.

1993 4g37 blowing oil back through intake. Replaced PVC. Only will crank by opening the air filter container and still lots of blow by.

this is actually very common in fact if you own an eclipse that doesnt have atleast some blowback i would be amazed unlees it causes issues with the functionality of the enigne running i would recomend just keep an eye on ur oil and dont fix it unless it is an absolute must because on these cars you can never fix just one issue and you wouldnt want to cause more problems by trying to fix one that isnt really a big deal
