I have a P0404 code coming up on my 1994 Volkswagen Golf CL! how do i fix that, what do i change? I noticed that the car will turn on after driving it for a while and wont start back up unless you leave it for a while to cool down! Its got all the tune up and everything! can somebody help?

you need to shop around for a new muffler. Price is going to vary because of possible damage to brackets etc... and will require a visual inspection by shop.
Well try checking the stop light switch.It is located under the dash. Just follow the brake peddel arm up and you should see it.It has two wires and if you pull out the connecter and jumper the terminals in the connecter .The brake lights should come on,if they don't then try replacing your missing fuse.15 amp will do.
Pull the distributor and look for the series number, or take it down to the parts house and have them match the distributor to a new oem replacement. Takes the guess work out of the engine build code.
If it's not showing any problem during normal driving eg rough idle, power loss, etc. most likely it will be a short circuit, but it will be a good idea to have it scanned during driving to check for an error code.
