Strange sound when driving over than 100Km per hour.

I have a lancer EX in the year 2008. When I am driving more than 100 Km per hour I hear the noise like a bee sound. What does it happen ? And the long way of KM is 25,000 km already achieve.
The lancer EX use the tyre of Yokohama, it is too hard and not comfort to drive. one of workshop in my town suggest me to use Bridgestone.
What do you think ?

the first thing i would check is the sway bar bushings they usualy go first. you have a bushing out somwhere. ive replace many struts because people have requested new struts and when we install them they come back and complain that the clunk is still there and all it needed was a bushing kit for $20
hope this helps

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Lancer Problems

the problem with the handling may be due to a steering alignment isue our you may have a problem with the bushes in the car it may pay to take it to a suspension expert and pay to get it tested ( this dose not cost to much)
the problem with the heater control is generally in the knob it self the mechanism fails and you will need to replace it recommend going to the wreckers and acquiring one.
how many settings do you have with your blower are all of them working if not you may need to get a new fan resistor ( from mits )
of all settings are working there may be a fault in the blower unit our it may be full of leaves.
as for the air filter i recommend you go to your parts retailer and get a high flow pannal filter that fits straight into the existing housing, you will get the same benefits with out having to modify the air intake and you will not have any problems with road worthy ect.

how bad are the tires ??
that's usually the problem, also the weight in the back counts, your back end is lighter that the front and some cars just don't have the grip needed.
but check the tires

The performance on an 2011 opel insignia has gone from 5,5 ltr per 100km to 6.3 per 100 km ... recent service oil change filter change ... even blew out the particle filter... any solutions

Best would be to add a air/fuel meter and see what's going on. O2 sensors, coolant temp sensor, degraded plug/wires, different oil, right foot got heavier.

My 2005 Lincoln Aviator is making a strange sound while accelerating through lower gears.

yeah , the fluid needs to be checked, the dealer needs to pull the plug and check the levels and fill it accordingly, it my need to have a fluid change also. it sounds like a shift solenoid, but i would have the fluid checked out first.

Looking to buy an 09 lancer. A little leary about the CVT tranny. I have 25 years Ford and GM experience but not much about CVTs. Would appreciate any input

I was a little leary myself when i bought the my 08 lancer gts cvt. I have only owned it for three months and has a little over 51000 km on but havent had any problems with it. You will be very impressed with the smooth operation of the cvt, the sprotronic and paddle shifters are amazing and work beautifully. I would recommend it over a regular five speed or a rough changing auto tranny. Besides the fact you should have proper warm up for it to work in colder temps(which is good for all trannys anyways) and the special transmission fluid needed. Fewer components and operates much like a snomobile belt drive system which i thought might affect gas mileage but i got a suprising 42mpg at 100km/hr. Towing anything might be an issue with this transmission since its a belt drive system(small camper or travel trailer) but im not to certain about that.So far so good......i would get another one!

How do i change from killgrams to miles per hour

Do you mean kilometers to miles ? 1 km = .621 miles
rule of thumb, 100km/hr = 60mph.
80km/hr = 50mph.

FUEL CONSUMPTION

The fuel consumption sounds about right for a turbo, perhaps a little high. Hwy consumption depends on how you drive. If you cruise at 100 kph, you should get around 8 L/ 100km. Round town, about 10 L / 100km.
