OVERHEATING MY 2005 RANGER 2.3L WITH AN ELECTRIC FAN IS OVERHEATING WITH NO A/C. THE FAN DOES NOT COME ON WHEN THE GAUGES ARE PEGGED, BUT IF YOU TURN THE A/C ON, THE FAN COMES ON AND THE TEMPERATURE DROPS TO NORMAL. SO, NO FAN WHEN OVERHEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM IS IN GREAT SHAPE, PCM PROBLEM ??????

Sounds like everything is working right but the computer is not turning the fan on. i would say the temp switch for the fan. it sends a signal to the computer to turn it on. it is very cheap and is the most common and likely problem.

good luck and please ask any more question you have

Sounds like your electric cooling fan is not turning on. Check the fuses and relays associated with the fan circuit.

sounds like a regulator malfunction to me..need to connect a battery/alternator tester to the system and see if the regulator is bad.. this will cause full charge of the alternator to enter the system.. this uses the battery as a regulator and will cause overheating of wires and relays..if the alternator can be removed and tested separately(most can), do this and see if this is the case..replace if bad..good luck..

2000 Ford Ranger. I have been having problems with my truck overheating. I changed the Thermostat but the truck still overheated when driving home yesterday.

If it has an electric fan a would replace the coolant temperature sensor. If it a mechanical fan i would replace the clutch on the fan.

1994 Ford Ranger 4l v6 overheating, i checked the hoses, the belt, the fan and topped up the coolant. i drove over some rough terrain last night and right after the temp gauge went red.

Could be a stuck or worn out thermistat, also listen to the fans on the truck.. sometimes if they are electric they burn out or the sensor is burnt out

All gauges pegged to the left

This is very common on 2003-2007 chevy trucks and suv's.
The stepper motors behind your cluster go bad. Do not go to the dealer, instead go online and look up cluster repair for your yr. of silverado and preferably in yor area. Price should range from 115.00-200.00 for all new motors, mine has 7
